I like to take out of towners here and say "you have never had chili like this" then we order dry, no beans, soup on the side. Always a huge hit!
The food is just as it was years and years ago. Good. Problem with the current Dixons is the new manager. He could care less about delivery orders being right. 3 times I ordered, 3 times something was missing. 1st time my drink, 2nd time my sauce for my tacos, 3rd time the meat for my tacos. I called up there and the woman who answered the phone said they will make it right. Put him on the phone and basically got a I'm sorry, we'll try to do better next time. No refund nothing. They need to get him OUT of there. Additionally you can NEVER count on what day you can order! They seem to turn it on and off at will. If you dine in then you are OK, but if you order.... Go somewhere else. If something is missing, Stephen couldn't care less.

My old stomping grounds. I've been going to Dixon's since I was a kid. All you can eat tacos are the best. Add the vinegar and taco sauce. Stull one of.my favorites!

Been coming to Kansas City for many years, and always have barbecue. I know one of the owners from Pappy's smokehouse in St Louis, and when I mentioned I was heading back to KC he said I should try this place. It did not disappoint. Everything was fresh and good. I got the regular chili with some onions, sour cream, and the jalapeno relish. And I tried one of the tacos.
The only thing that didn't make it an outstanding experience was the waitress. I told her it was my first time here and wasn't sure what to order, she seemed indifferent about it, and not helpful at all. Actually she had the personality of the coffee table.
Everybody else seemed very friendly though. Will return.

Went to Dixons today for Tacos. Was there about 6:45pm. Came in sat down there was a waitress sweeping the floor. She took our drink order but then continued to sweep for 10 more minutes. Touching the dust pan and the broom she NEVER washed her hands, handled our drinks and our food. She was rude to us the whole time we were there..I'm disgusted because fast food places no longer have clean hygiene habits.

As someone who was visiting Dixon for the first time with a family member I was very disappointed. I ordered chilli expecting it to be similar to the chilli on the hot dog , instead I received a plate of hamburger meat mixed with some beans and grease, when I asked for a different order I was told that's how to my make it and too bad too sad . I've been to a lot of restaurants in my 35 years of being alive and I have yet to be told this . As someone with low blood sugar and who was in an emotional state , this sat with me because no one cared and luckily there were near by restaurants that I could turn to while dealing with low blood sugar. You live and you learn. My mistake.

Came from Colorado and to Dixons for pregame grub. Found it on Google with good reviews and thought I'd give it a try. I had the chili in its own juice over a tamale with cheese, onion, and sour cream. Sweet tea for a drink. I was not disappointed. Chii tastes homemade, and the service is quick and friendly. Portions are filling even for a big guy like me.
It's definitely recommended if you are in town before the game or if you want some legit chili made there for over 100 years.
