We went to this place and customer service was horrible. There was no structure. As we entered the building, a lady greeted us. There were 2 men in line. The employee told us to come up to the register. We did, but we couldn’t decide what to order. So…we stepped aside. We were told that the area we were standing in was not the area we were supposed to be in. So…me stood behind the 2 men. At that point, we realized that the 2 men did not place their order. Ok??? Then why call us to the front and make us cut in line? There was no communication between the 2 ladies who were taking orders. The other lady walked off cuz of the customer. Talk about poor customer service. So…when she came back, I told her exactly what we got so we can pay for our food. And yes, I spoke to her like a child who didn’t understand anything after her experience with a previous customer. The food was mediocre. Joe’s BBQ is 1,000 times better. And that’s an understatement. We won’t be back ever again.

SUCH a disappointment. Outdated design (and this is a new location apparently) with huge unmanageable trays overly processed foods (all of the meats seem to come from low quality 'loaves' that are roughly sliced, slapped on a plate and slathered with flavorless slopes that is labeled as BBQ sauce) And $66 later I packed my plate to give to the homeless-

I judge a bbq restaurant by how good the burnt ends are. These were gristle. Plus when we entered, I felt like I was in boot camp with the way the server behind the counter barked at us. I expected great things about this Kansas City bbq place but I left sorely disappointed. Go somewhere else.

Upon entering the restaurant, one of the ladies greeted us and asked us what we wanted. I told the lady that we had to look at the menu. Then another lady asked us if we’re ready to pay. I told her that the other lady was taking care of us. There were 2 people upon entering the restaurant. After we told the ladies that we were looking at the menu, the 2 ppl in front of us haven’t ordered yet. So…with that being said…there is no organization. When the people placed their order, they had to stand at the register so they can get their food. When it was our turn to order, one of the ladies yelled out the order to the kitchen. When we were ready to pay, the other lady was clueless. There was no communication and very disorganized. Both ladies were rude to the customers, including us. Food was ok. Not what we expected. We won’t be back due to rude service and food being mediocre. Fries was a good portion. But the sandwich? Not enough sauce.

I was out with my mom 85 year old mom and we decided ti stop by Gates off 40 hwy and get some food togo.Upon entering the restaurant the regular yelling of " HI,MAY I HELP YOU!" was replace by along 15 min wait with only two customer ahead of us.So we finally placed an order of one slab of ribs heaven saúde with franchise fried and an onion ring.While waiting for our order I noticed the cashiers were NOT wearing gloves but handling food with thier hands touching food pn ocasión to close a lid on a order or place white sheet of paper onto the ribs while also handling money. Upon paying $46.42 we finally received our order almost a 30 minute wait.The server forgot to drop the onion rings.When we got home the food was cold the fried tested old and the onion ring where hard. Also the meat was NOT TENDER.I usually love Gates please do better.

I (thought) I ordered 1/4lb beef and 1/4lb pork (sliced by the pound) only to be given two “double decker” sandwiches. Did I order wrong? Lost in translation? Food was mediocre at best. $47.00 later…… I hadn’t eaten here for years and wasn’t my first choice. Just convenient at the time. Won’t be back.

My husband and I ordered gates last night for pick up, through Uber eats. When he got to the restaurant he was asked for a confirmation number that DOES NOT EXIST. They don't give you a confirmation number when you order for pick up through Uber eats, the woman at the counter snatched the food back from him and told him he couldn't have the order we had already paid online for! He called me from the restaurant with this woman in the background arguing with him about a non existent number. The manager finally came out and set this person straight and let my husband take our order. We had ordered two turkey nooner sandwiches and they were filled with big chunks of fat in the burnt ends part of the sandwich. Just huge chunks of disgusting fat all in the sandwich. Horrible service, terrible food and experience. I've eaten at gates my entire life and now I'm considering never eating there again. Very very very disappointing.

Which is all I care about at every bbq joint. Lol. But like I said, the people were great, the fries were good and we had a good time out.
