Hereford House - Independence

We enjoy Hereford house and like to go on Sundays for the brunch as well as the occasional dinner out. The Hot Honey Chicken and Waffle is my favorite! While normally it's excellent, this time our food wasn't great. My waffle was over cooked to the point of tasting a bit burned, and they were out of maple syrup (which would have been good to know when I place my order). The hot honey chicken was excellent as always. My husband had the breakfast skillet, but the steak chunks were pretty hard and just did not taste good. If this were my restaurant and we ran out of maple syrup, I would have sent someone to the store to buy some before offering the waffles. Our service was attentive and we enjoy the atmosphere at Herford. Just an off day, I hope.

You can't beat the Duo Dinner for $99. Our entree came out before we were done with our salads, which we hate when restaurants do that. We mentioned it, they apologized and gave us two desserts. It means a lot when a place recognizes disappointment and makes up for it. Would definitely go back.

Never a disappointment! Hereford house is the best and this is the best Hereford House. The staff cares about their customers and the food and service reflects that!

Excellent ambiance, food, and service. Loved every bit of it. Get the ribeye or KC strip with the blackened garlic butter on top. You wont regret it.

James was our very fine waiter. He took excellent care of my sister and I. We were celebrating her birthday, and I believe he helped make it a memorable one in the best of ways. The food was beautifully presented and ridiculously yummy!

Great prime rib!!! We were traveling through and it hit the spot!!! Service was fast and friendly!! Loved it!!!!

Good food but ungodly slow service. Reservation at 715, got sat at 730 and we were bored and ready to go home before our steaks even got there around 845. I went and got the car while the wife stayed and waited for them to give us our dessert to go. We finally got that at 930. Bummer of a night and waste of a night out with the fam.

We were never seated , the hostess blatantly ignored us and seated others. So we left and went to Twin Peaks next door!

I would give them zero stars if that was an option. We had reservations for 630PM. We got their about 10 minutes early. The rude and unwelcoming host told us it would probably be another 30 minutes. What's the point of making reservations? Aside from that, sat and wait till about 6:30. During that time, we watched several other people come in and be seated right away. Another family has reservations for 6:30 also. They were sat right away. Then there was a family that had reservations for 630 also. They were seated immediately. They had a party of 4 or 5. They ended up leaving due to a family emergency. (I pray everything is okay.) While all this was happening, we were basically being ignored and skipped over. We left and spent our hard earned money elsewhere. We were actually treated with respect and appreciation along with wonderful customer service. I'll never spend a dime at the Hereford House. If you don't mind being treated like you don't matter or you're beneath them this this is the place for you. This is the Independence, MO location. I can't speak for other locations, but this one is a major disappointment.

Not sure why anyone would wanna support this place. Had reservations and was told that we would still have to wait. While waiting had several people come in after us without a reservation and get seated immediately. Will never support this joke of a place again.
