Perfect getaway to catch up on a good book or do some studying. I like the historic area in Independence. Good coffee and great desserts!

I love this little place. The biscuits and gravy are the best I've ever had. Once I asked for an extra egg in place of bacon. It was way too much food.
This place is small and quiet. We we're greeted right away. It's not a diner but she does have some sandwhiches and sweets. It's a nice place. Will be taking my girls there for lunch soon.
I enjoy eating my lunch here once every week. Barb is great. Food is tasty. I get a salad and flat bread pizza. I enjoy listening to the calm music and behind surrounded by books. Nice place. I have ordered two rhubarb pies as well. Yummmmmmm.
the food was delicious. it tasted just like my mom makes it. the atmosphere was cozy in an adorable house. the owner was wonderful and treated us as if we were family. my wife and i had wraps and our daughter enjoyed her soup of the day, and then we had some dessert. there were so many options to choose from sticky buns, pecan rolls, cookies of multiple varieties, cakes, and pies. the food was all fantastic. for the 3 of us with lunch, drinks, and dessert we only spent $30.00 which included the tip. next time we are in Independence we will be back for sure
Owner Barbara is very cordial & aims to please any "family" (customers) who walk through the door. Her cherry turnovers are a perfect balance of flakey & fruity. When you have both a warm atmosphere & home-baked foods, you just can't go wrong. Collecting for the local church food pantry only adds to the appeal. Independence is blessed to have such an eatery!
