Very nice restaurant. Unlike other Mexican restaurants. Great atmosphere. Excellent wait staff. The food was delicious. The caldo de camaron could be better, but overall a great spot.

I was super excited to try this place. But life is full of little let downs. The building and decor are awesome and fun! The food... oh the food. To say it was bland and uninspired is a vast understatement. Stay away from the combo and lunch specials. They are just different wrappers filled with the same tasteless meat and NOTHING else. The cheese dip tastes like milk. The cheese content is so low the top only congealed once! And like the burrito... there was not other spice or added ingredients. The service was fine.. fast and impersonal never once tried to refill my empty iced tea or bring fresh chips. But man that food was bad. Save 5 bucks and go down the street to California Taco kitchen and get more flavor from a drive through. If this place isn't a front for the cartel it's not going to last... sad.

O Foode

We made a decision to dine at the newly opened Palacio Maya Mexican Restaurant in Independence, Missouri last night.Regrettably, we were not fully satisfied with the food items we ordered. The Chorizo Dip was served lukewarm rather than hot, necessitating a request to have it reheated. Additionally, the consistency of the dip was excessively runny. It is advisable to request extra napkins, as we were initially provided with only one napkin each. The Chips and Salsa were satisfactory, with the chips being of good quality but the Salsa lacking in flavor. The Shrimp Chimichanga and Enchiladas Acapulco were the items we ordered. The shrimp in the Chimichanga was of a satisfactory size. However, the Enchiladas Acapulco were excessively dry. The sauce lacked flavor and did not enhance the dish. In my opinion, a white sauce would have been a more suitable choice.Typically, we are not inclined to complain, but we believe in providing feedback to improve the dining experience. We brought the undercooked Chimichanga to the server's attention, and the manager was sent to our table. Unfortunately, the manager insisted that the Chimichanga had been deeply-fried, despite our assertion to the contrary. No apology was offered.Although the drinks were satisfactory, the overall experience was disappointing due to the lack of flavor in the food. Regrettably, we will not be returning to this establishment.Last night we made the decision to have dinner at the newly opened Palacio Maya Mexican restaurant in Independence, Missouri.Unfortunately, we were not completely satisfied with the foods we ordered. I went on a slow night and it took awhile to get served. When I finally did I was ready to order. I ordered fried tacos. The course came out and it was very unimpressive. The tacos were small. Not really a good value. I also asked for cheese dip first thing and never got it. All and all not a very good place to eat.

Taco salad was way too soupy and very little salad. But my wife loved her soup meal. I'd be willing to try it again.

Meat in the taco and enchilada was fresh! Service was quick and efficient as well as friendly. Food was on the milder side but they brought some spicy salsa on request. Prices were very reasonable. I'll go there again.
