We waited an hour and a half before being told that a fryer was down causing a delay in service. Salad had hair in it at least the waitress apologized and replaced it. Prime rib was ordered medium and got to the table medium well and room temperature. Not very welcoming or informative.

Their Cowboy Burger is the best... And sorry to Chick-fil-A lovers.... But the waffle fries here are superior

My wife and I attempted to eat lunch here for the first time a week ago, I was told by many people how great the food was. Sadly after an hour long wait and our waitress telling us two separate times (about 20 min apart) that our food will be ready in just a min, we chose to leave. We watched 4 top tables come in order after us, eat and pay for their meal without ever receiving anything but our drinks.

The worst part our waitress just smiled when got up and left with no attempt to actually do anything to help the situation.

The atmosphere seemed pretty cool, our table was clean, the floor was a bit slick.
The menu had some really good sounding items we were just not able to actually try the food.

Visiting Jefferson City and this restaurant was recommended to us by a local business owner, so we went in for lunch.

I don't give a ton of 5 star reviews, but the way the staff handled the situation they were in impressed me. They immediately told us before ordering that they were understaffed in the kitchen, and that food was taking a little bit longer to get out. Since we were not in a rush, this wasn't a big deal. The food didn't take terribly long and was very, very good we ordered the prime rib sandwich and the reuben. They put a twist on the reuben that gives is a slightly unique flavor, and it was very surprising in a good way.

They again apologized for the sandwiches taking a little bit long when they delivered the food and made sure to check with us after to make sure everything was good and reiterate that they don't normally take that long to get food out.

To summarize, the atmosphere is awesome. The place has a fantastic history. The food was great, and the service was stellar.

Not enough help. Waited 1 1/2 hrs. for our meal. Ordered a caesar salad and got a house with ranch. My husband ordered his burger medium and it was well done.

I actually went to the Ecco Lounge the night before I continued my move east this Spring with my folks. It's a restaurant they like going to occasionally and there's a couple dishes they like to have when visiting.
The Ecco Lounge is one of those places that has a colorful local history. So much so, they are proud to share it on their menu as you decide what to order. The main bar area itself is what you'd expect, though they have preserved as much of the place's history as possible in the floors and furniture. If you dine in that area you will certainly enjoy it. However, I would like to see a little more thought and personality go into the dining rooms behind the main bar area as it is kind of close quarters and not as "colorful" as the bar. At the very least tie it into the rest of the place a little more seamlessly.
Many locals know of and rave about the prime rib sandwich ($15) and when I ordered it, it didn't disappoint. For the price, you get a nice piece of prime rib served on a toasted hoagie with horseradish sauce and au jus on the side. This was a very mouthwatering sandwich and I enjoyed every bite. The au jus was also very tasty and complimented the sadwich. The only critique that it was a hair underdone; while this didn't bother me, some folks might not like that. However, I will add the disclaimer that it may have been more the service that evening than the sandwich itself. The fries served alongside the sandwich were done just right and we're crispy.
My folks also ordered the fried mushrooms to start our meal. Overall, they were good and the dip paired well with it. However, especially per my folks' critique they were a little soggy and not quite as good as they usually are.
The service was decent, but wasn't the best. I am probably giving a little more generous rating than my folks would have, but the service was a little slow and could use some improvement. I believe the service we had also affected the food we had, but not too heavily. Part of that may have also been to us dining midweek, so keep this in mind when visiting.
I would like to see the service and atmosphere improved to really help sell their food. But, Ecco Lounge is a unique bar and lounge with some really tasty dishes. Definitely worth trying out at least once, especially for the prime rib sandwich.
