Have been here before and it’s usually pretty good! Just decided to stop by to get some “lattes” to treat ourselves and they are pretty awful. Extremely bitter and just tastes like black drip coffee rather than espresso, which is disappointing. I didn’t even see them pull an espresso shot while making it so I’m assuming it is drip coffee 😞 definitely should have just made our own at home 😫

My wife and I recently hosted an informal next morning post- wedding gathering at High Rise Bakery early Sunday and I can recommend without reservation. We are not from the area, so all arrangements were made remotely by phone several months in advanced (not required, I'm sure). Our contact was Kevin the manager who was consistent with communication, returning phone calls, and describing possibilities clearly. We ordered several trays of bakery items for our guests, and though I was worried they might be forgotten, they were ready to go (months after arranging) and really, really tasty....I mean excellent... flakey, not too sweet, well made delights. The upfront staff was efficient and cheerful, plying guests with coffees as they entered, and directing them to the second floor loft where we rallied. The venue itself is hip with the quintessential coffee chic vibe. Large gatherings likely would not be practical, but it met our needs for 30 guests or so, who came in shifts before departing town after visiting for the wedding. And don't feel like you have to arrange a party to visit High Rise, it is a great place to grab a cuppa' and scroll the internet on your own too. Thanks High Rise, you did great.

Coffee was great! The food was fine. During busy times the line to order blocks off the bar seating area.

The only reason I give 3 stars is because of the service. Food was great staff was nice but they ask for a tip when we paid. So we paid the tip and they never brought us our drink when they were done making it. We had to go up and get the drink from them. When I went up to get the drink there were 3 staff and one customer talking over our latte that was not covered. It was in an open ceramic mug. We also had to take care of our own dishes when we were done. They should take the tip away if they don’t want to serve the people giving them a tip.

stopped in from out of town and nearly left because of how busy it was today. But that’s always a good sign of a place that’s straight serving heat. Coffee and food were delicious. Got in and out relatively quickly. Friendly staff as well. Well done.

The Salmon Hash Bowl was delicious. The chef even checked in on me to see if I was happy! Excellent service! I will be back the next time I'm in Jeff City.

Tried this place for the first time today and I was blown away! The food and coffee were amazing, but the service is really what will have us coming back! Shelby was so kind, friendly and helpful, she's the reason we'll be back very soon!

I stopped by High Rise Bakery in Jefferson City early one morning for a quick solo visit and was really impressed. I ordered an Americano and a croissant. The Americano was served hot. Just right, not scalding like some other spots around town, which was a nice surprise. But the real standout was the croissant. Honestly, it was the best croissant I’ve ever had in Missouri. Flaky, buttery, and fresh, everything you want from a pastry.

The wait was a bit on the longer side. About 10 to 15 minutes from when I arrived to when I got my order, but considering how popular the bakery is, it wasn’t too bad at all. It felt like it was worth it. The atmosphere was decent although a bit loud.

One thing to note is that the prices are particularly high but I'd come here again for the occasional treat.

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately it missed the mark for me. I ordered the avocado toast, but it was way too oily — the oil was actually dripping off the bread. I also tried the breakfast bar pastry, and it tasted like it was made almost entirely of sugar. It was way too sweet for a morning treat.

The outdoor seating area could also use some attention. The tables were rusty, and overall the place didn’t feel very clean or well-maintained.

Hope they make some improvements, because the concept has potential.

This was our first time in. We had an excellent experience with the barista. She was friendly and talkative. The food and coffee were great. We had biscuits and gravy and pastries. My only small tweak would be better lighting as it was very dim, and checking the tables to make sure they aren't wobbly. Otherwise, a great experience and we will be back.

Nice place to grab breakfast. The Biscuits and chicken with roasted potatoes were delicious and their coffee is amazing.
