Ordered appetizers and they were out of the mushrooms and then they didn't have the poppers either. We did order shrimp and zucchini which were great plus a bottle of wine and drinks. Ordered our main courses and 25 minutes later the waitress came back and said they were out of pork chops. But asked if I wanted to see a menu and then tried to upsell me a ribeye but didn't seem to really care that it was almost 8:15 and we got here at 7. It was 20-25 minutes after our original order. My frustration is that if I order at this point do my guest that we were eating with have to wait will their food be put in a window and how long will it take to get everything to the table. So I didn't order anything and their food arrived about 5 minutes later. I have ate here multiple times when I come in from St. Louis. I am going to rethink next time when I'm I entertaining. No manager came to talk to our table no apology. I won't be back. I was making this entry trough dinner and waited till I got the final check and paid before I posted. Sorry Madison's do better if you want to be the great restaurant you use to be.

Had a family Christmas dinner here, it was great. I’m excited to come back and try more! The menu had plenty of options to meet everyone’s needs. The beverages were strong and delicious! Only downside- my pasta was served luke-warm, but the waiter returned it to the kitchen. Overall satisfied.
Service was alright but since we weren’t the group of 15 we weren’t important any longer and our food went to the wayside. Lukewarm main, with appetizers sent out with it. Apparently it’s just a “must try” restaurant, and living here for years, I’ve been a handful of times the past several years to keep giving it a chance. No longer has the touch or statement it used to.

I really like Madison's. I have eaten here with my wife and children for over 25 years now and the service, food, and atmosphere has always been good, real good. I love the jalapeneo chicken pasta, it is wonderful.

I ordered a house salad as a carry out. When I opened it home it was dry lettuce and parm cheese with like 3 red onion rings on top. Dressing on the side. No artichokes, far less cheese than in their pre tossed ones and the dressing seemed more vinegary. I called and was blamed for not asking for to be. “Tossed.” I could have had vinegar and oil and lettuce at home. What I wanted was Madison’s house salad. There was no apology. I’m just supposed to return another time and get another salad. Ivwad instructed a second time in this call to request itv”tossed”. I’ve heard many times that Madison’s has gone downhill since it was sold. I must agree. At least ask your patrons if you want the salad “tossed” it not, and don’t force us to offhandedly know how you serve to-go salads. Then don’t leave out ingredients. The salad is not the same when you must drizzle dressing yourself as opposed to the way it’s normally served. And finally, if there is a consumer with a problem, be apologetic and don’t tell us it’s our fault. Yes. It’s a minor thing to fuss about with all the strife in our country, but poor service is the norm now. Nobody cares about quality and service. Only the bottom dollar. I suppose I shouldn’t expect actual customer service. Not to mention the food and money waste. I won’t be returning for a replacement salad in hopes it will be good.

Went to dinner with others the week of October 20,2025. The service was fantastic but unfortunately the food was very disappointing. Entrees were very bland.

Not good, nothing. From the moment I walked in. I sat at bar. Service food and atmosphere a one not to mention way overpriced.
Six of us went to Madison’s for dinner last night. Six of our entrees were pasta or pasta sides. Four of us received pasta dishes that were cold. We were starving, so this was not good. We ordered more bread that never arrived. When the server finally came back, we told her about the problem, and she disappeared. The hostess came over and offered an underwhelming 10% off our bill. No offers to heat food or anything. We were underwhelmed by the lack of concern about food quality or service recovery. I’ve eaten at Madison’s for 30 years. The original owner, Rob Agee, always made sure things were done right. He cared about quality. I should have known something was wrong when Madison’s was deserted during the usually peak dining period of 7-8 p.m. on a Friday night in October. I guess everyone in Jefferson City has already figured out what I now know — the new owners have run this once-great institution into the ground. I won’t be back. Too many other good choices in Jefferson City to waste your money at a restaurant where they don’t have in pride in their facilities or food or customer service.
Catfish sandwich is awesome! Serving and atmosphere are also good.

The food is not great . Bland and tasteless ,the pasta was over cooked to mush. Only parts of my food were actually hot . Way over priced for the quality.
The interior is dark and dingy , it really needs a facelift .
