The best food in Jefferson City. Everything is made from scratch, and you can tell. I would also like to say they make the best fish I have had in my life. It tasted like I was eating Michelin star scallops. The way they pull this off is by only making 3 things, chicken, fish, and ham. You can have these Lamberts style where you can have more until you are surely full. All this for $14. If you havent been here, treat yourself.

What a great place for some honest-to-goodness homestyle food!

We flew in for lunch and (unfortunately) were in enough of a bind on time that we didn't even look at the menus. One of the cooks (possibly the manager) seated us and we asked what would be fast. He suggested a couple of 2-piece chicken plates. He said they would come with mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans, cole slaw, apple sauce and bread. No discussion about price.

We ordered ahead and took our food to go. The restaurant jad a very cool atmosphere. I wished we would have had time to dine in! Food was fresh and hot. $14 for a 4 piece catfosh plate with 3 sodes and bread. Good value for the price! Definitely would recommend Nick's!!!
