Food is great the service is crap I waited at the togo window pressed the lil doorbell multiple times many employees walked by never said a word made eye contact and walked right past never a one min not a out togo girl is busy I then proceeded to have to go inside where I was told that's not their job instead of just saying I'll go get your food then I was told she was at the window at which point I got mad and said if she was I wouldn't be standing here stop making excuses for your mess up and just fix it at which time an entirely new person comes out gives me my food with no silverware like an asshole bc who.gets food togo and doesn't need a fork all and all a terrible experience at what is usually a pleasant place and I even tipped by the end of it I just wanted my money back

We went to Jefferson City last night with friends. I looked up places to eat and ran across Oscar’s dinner. We went there and had dinner. The steak, pork tenderloin and open faced beef was amazing! They were fully staffed and got our food to us quick. I would recommend this dinner! Their history throughout the restaurant was awesome too!

A must if you like good food and friendly staff. The retro atmosphere is very home feeling, seeing the vintage pictures of times gone by while you enjoy the delicious food makes for a very nice dining experience.

I'm so thankful for everyone at Oscar's! My dad's favorite place to eat and he took everyone he knew here. Kindest staff I've encountered and of course the food is feel good and perfect!

I went to Oscar's because it was the highest rated restaurant in the City. When I got there, the placed was packed, and I feared it might be a Lambert's situation where the wait is always at least 30. However, I dodged a 20 minute wait time by saying I could sit at the bar.

The menu is ok, if not a little limited. I decided to choose the diner classic, chicken fried steak, which was decently priced at $13. Here is where the disappointment comes. With such a long wait time for table seating, I thought the food was going to be AMAZING, but it was just good. I would even say I had better food at IHOP in Lees Summit.

From what I have been told about Jeff City cuisine this meets the norm for local food, good enough. 4/5

We enjoyed our time at Oscar's well enough and had a good waitress. The food seemed fine, my patty melt was a touch dry, maybe could used some extra seasoning, I prolly should have asked for some steak sauce. I guess it all seemed OK instead of "wow" when considering the prices, but I know that prices are up everywhere tho hopefully that will recede now.
The diner is worth a visit, I'd come back.
