I was very disappointed in the crispy rice paper shrimp. They fried it so long the shrimp was like jerky. The service and atmosphere are nice, but the food isn't cutting it.

Prison Brews is a great place for a quality casual meal. The prices are reasonable, the food is delicious, and the serving sizes are generous. I've always received thoroughly competent service there. They make good use of their wood fired oven. Get some pretzels for an appetizer, and follow it up with a pizza. If I'm not in the mood for a pizza, I'll go for their club sandwich which is always requires a carry out box so that I can get two meals out of the sandwich.

We sat on the patio and made ourselves at home with a group of 6. The waitresses were all so nice and remembered our drinks orders. They let us use the big fan since it was still a little warm out when we got there. The food was so amazing. I got the bacon bomb burger with fries and a side of cheese sauce. I was so hungry and it all looked so tasty that I forgot to snap a before I dug in picture. Everyone at the table got something different and had great things to say. I highly recommend eating here and I will definitely be returning.

Parking: There is the old parking lot behind the building and a new parking lot in front of along with street parking.

We visited Prison Brews on a Saturday afternoon around 3 PM when the restaurant wasn’t busy. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start. We received no friendly greeting, though we were seated right away. Our server, Jada, took about 10 minutes to come to our table and ask for our drink order. When we requested a John Daly, the staff didn’t know what it was. The beer we ordered arrived warm, and the food was cold and lacked freshness.Jada never returned to check on us, instead spending time sitting with other waitresses, who were on their phones and not attentive to the restaurant. The manager on duty was at the bar, indifferent to the issues and the inattentiveness of his staff.I spoke with Steve, the General Manager, about the situation. He dismissed my concerns, giving the excuse that “good help is hard to find.” This didn’t address the fact that there was a manager on duty who wasn’t doing anything about the problems. Steve offered me a $25 gift card to return, but I declined. When I asked for a full refund, he refused, despite acknowledging after reviewing the footage that my complaints were valid.I do not recommend this restaurant whatsoever.

This place was great!! The theme was well done, but it was not dependent on said theme. For a "prison" it was very spacious and well lit, with plenty of places to sit. The decor was really cool, and the service was very friendly! The food was great! The chip fries were super tasty, and so was the stake sandwich! The drinks were also really tasty!

We arrived at 7:00. The bartender turned the TVs off at 7:30 and told the waitresses to start putting chairs up on the tables. Felt like we should hurry up and finish our food and drinks.

Me and my family had the best time. The customer service was outstanding, and our food came out hot, delicious, and fast. I ordered the Gyro Bratwurst and it was absolutely worth it. I couldn't believe how similar to a actual Gyro it was. I was also able to try the bacon bomb cheeseburger and it was so good I ordered it the next day at lunch. We took my father who was recovering in the hospital a order of buffalo wings, and he said hands down the best wings he has ever had. He loved them so much that when he was released from the hospital he ordered 4 orders of wing to take home and freeze to enjoy whenever he wants. Prison Brews has became one of our favorite places to eat when visiting Jeff City!!! I can't wait to try other menu items when we come back! Such a great environment as well, very relaxing.

We must have visited on an off night. Group of 7. Waited almost an hour for dinner salads and appetizers. Service was lacking. Folks who arrived after us received their food before we got the salads and appetizers. When asked about the appetizers a comment was made but was not the comment of let me go check. Pizza was not hot when it came to the table, my fries were cold, others were hot. Would try it again but not anytime soon.

As I was searching for a place to try some local craft beer, I found Prison Brews and they did not disappoint! I went for a late lunch around 1:30 PM. The atmosphere was great, how they incorporated the prison theme was super fun! The beer was delicious. While I'm normally not a dark beer girl, the Parole Porter was actually my favorite on my flight. It was deliciously chocolatey with some caramel flavor too. The service was great, my food came out extra fast. I had the Reuben with Sweet Potato Fries. (Forgot the picture before I'd already devoured half of it.) It was very good and they were the waffle style fries, which are my favorite. And the best part was that my bill was only $21!! You can barely go to a fast food place anymore for that, let alone try great beer! I will definitely be coming back here next time I'm in Jeff City!

Parking: I was worried it was only going to be street parking and difficult to find a spot, but to my surprise they have a whole nice lot in the back with stairs up to the brewery. Parking was stress-free!
