Delicious, authentic, fast, friendly service. Wonderful experience and will be back. Helpings were way too much for me to finish. I’m only mad it took me so long to eat there, if you haven’t yet, please go try it, love it and support their small business.

Oh my goodness! I had a fish filet meal with mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, with gravy, a cornbread muffin, and a piece of sweet potato pie. Everything was amazing and friendly service! The fish filet was humongous! Definitely a 5 out of 5 rating!

The food is amazing, but more than that-it’s an authentic restaurant run by authentic people!

Had food catered from here at a professional development event. It was amazing! The fried chicken was juicy, the Mac and cheese was creamy, the collards were so good, but my favorite was the pineapple cobbler! This southern girl was thrilled to have comfort food in Jeff City!

A work function and they brought in Tawanda's for lunch. It was excellent! We had the fried chicken, collard greens, Mac and cheese and two types of cobbler. I highly recommend folks check out Tawanda's soon.

Ate here a few days ago. Had the fried catfish and meatloaf. Wow - oh wow! Plus the sides (mashed potatoes/gravy, cabbage, mac n cheese, beans) - This was the best meal ever! Huge portions and real food!!! We plan to be back soon! They were so accommodating and nice. Downhome and friendly.

Wow!!! What a hidden gem! This is absolutely the best fried chicken I've ever had in my life. It hits everything: the taste of the breading, unique blend of spices, succulence of how the chicken was cooked, the juiciness and tenderness of the meat, the firm crispy exterior... I could go on and on, but found myself licking the bones dry. Unequivocally the best fried chicken in all of Jefferson City, and I say that as a loyal patron of some of the other local favorites. The man frying the chicken made it to order, but the freshness of it was worth the wait. The people serving you are just as sweet as can be, and it is contagious because when you walk in, all the other patrons are just as equally warm and friendly--you feel like family. Just a cozy place that makes you feel cozy and happy throughout. A fantastic dining experience all around.

Tawanda's has delicious food! Especially liked the candied yams and mac & cheese. Cool vibe, too.
