To be fair, I've eaten here a few times off the menu, and it was great, but today we decided to try the new buffet, and it was... edible. Terrible but edible. Tonight, it was the home style buffet for $14.99 including a drink. It was supposed to have hamburger steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, mac and cheese, pork tenderloin, chicken tenders, and bread (tonight was cresent rolls). The dinner buffet is from 5-7:30. We got there at around 5:40, and we left at 5 after 6. If that says anything. Everything was lukewarm, the was no tenderloin, the hamburger steak tasted really good over the potatoes but it was all broken up into the gravy (making me wonder if it was from the lunch service), the tenders were probably the best thing we had. The mac and cheese was a terrible version of the kind you get in a frozen frozen dinner. The only thing they replenished while we were there was the cresent rolls... even though there were still some left. Granted, we weren't there long, but nobody came out to check the buffet, stir the food, or clean around it. I'm usually not this harsh and usually only post reviews if they are a positive experience, but it was really disappointing. Especially when Golden Corral is only $2 more. I think I'll stick to the burgers and breakfast because those are done really well.

I went for the potato bar buffet. It included pulled pork, grilled chicken and a great salad bar. The pulled pork was good, but a little dry, chicken had great seasoning, baked beans were awesome, potatoes were huge and well cooked, potato salad was good, sliced tomatoes were great as well as the cucumbers. The salad bar temp was nice and chilled, but the hot bar needs to be warmer. The dining area was clean. The bathroom was not very clean and it wasn't a recent mess. Just lack of frequent cleaning. The good news is the food is good and the service is too. They just need some small tweaking to get a 5 out of 5 from me and many others.

If you are looking for an amazing burger, this is the place. Their burgers are huge, the double is more than most mortals can get their mouth around. Beef flavor is great and of course you have to get bacon on it. The toppings you can grab from the salad bar which is nice but you have to bring your plate up, they only had sauce cups to get stuff back to your booth. Lots of sauce choices too which is great. The fries were average. Fried pickle appetizer was good but you got a really small portion for the price compared to most restaurants. Overall it is a bit pricy since everything is an add-on. If you are going to pay $4 for average fries might as well pay the $3-4 more for bacon, cheese, and whatever else they throw on. Overall great spot to eat!
Vegetarian options: We asked if they had vegan options and all had a good laugh.

My family and I stopped at the Anderson, MO location because the signage on the outside of the building caught our eye so we decided to walk in and see what was on the menu. Someone walked up to the front counter. (Assuming it was the manager. A young male) and he was so kind and had amazing manners (yes sir, yes ma'am) it was wonderful. We ordered 2 bacon cheeseburgers, one cheeseburger, and one mushroom and Swiss burger all with drinks and fries. Oh...my...goodness. to say the absolute least it was amazing. Fresh burgers not pre-made patties. They were thick and juicy and tasted fantastic. And the fries were amazing. Soft on the inside with a slight crunch on the outside. We're from Wisconsin and I have to say. We've had plenty of burgers up north and these ones definitely made top 10 on our list. We will definitely add this restaurant to our favorites for our future Missouri trips!
