Great food! We had the ahi tuna poke, fish tacos, chicken, and shrimp. All the food was delicious and perfectly seasoned. This is going to sound crazy but the rice was phenomenal...the best I've ever had!

The ribs are weird. The meat to fat ratio is slightly unbearable. The food portion to price ratio is not that great.. The beef has flavor just nothing to write home about. The mac salad was okay as well. I'd say I prefer Hawaiian bros easily, in terms of price, flavor and portions. My wife does her own version of Hawaiian bros, which rivals its easily. Bout to tell the wife to open a Hawaiian joint at this point. Also the wife saw some weird things. Someone who works there that happens to own "55 chickens" picking out the food out the garbage can. Thats just weird man.

I can't say enough nice things! The people were awesome, the food was absolutely impeccable, and a great atmosphere! I had the Ahi tuna with pineapple cabbage and the fish was cooked perfect, the cabbage was sweet and still very crunchy. My husband got the Mahi Mahi wrap and macaroni salad which was also very delicious! We will be coming here every time we visit Joplin!

Quite impressive food! Service was quick and friendly as well. I loved my shrimp tacos (perfectly seasoned) and the Kahlua pork plate was very flavorful. Glad to see this type of restaurant doing well in Joplin. Several hot sauce options available, a better beer selection that most bars in town, and fresh tasty food that didn't feel heavy! Good portions for the price as well. I've added Hungry Monkey to my rotation when I town for sure!

Utterly Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience at The Hungry Monkey Rating: 1/5 Stars I am deeply disheartened to write this review for The Hungry Monkey, but I believe it's crucial for potential customers to be aware of the appalling service my family and I experienced. Upon visiting, we specifically requested our meal to be dairy and egg-free due to dietary restrictions. The staff member at the counter noted that the macaroni salad contained mayo and kindly offered to replace it with an extra scoop of rice, which we appreciated. However, when our meal arrived, it included the macaroni salad. What ensued was a shocking display of unprofessionalism that I have never witnessed before in any establishment. The owner, instead of addressing the mistake with any semblance of customer service, resorted to cursing and yelling loudly in the restaurant. When we tried to explain the situation, the girl at the counter blatantly denied our request for a substitution, contradicting what was initially agreed upon. She proceeded to sit on the floor behind the counter, vaping and texting on her phone, completely ignoring us. This aggressive and unhelpful confrontation created an extremely uncomfortable atmosphere, utterly ruining our dining experience. It's disheartening to see such a lack of professionalism and customer care. This experience has firmly decided for us that we will never return to The Hungry Monkey. I caution anyone considering dining here to be aware of the potential for a similarly disappointing and uncomfortable experience due to the apparent lack of professionalism and customer respect.

After so many good friends suggested this place to me, I thought I’d give it a try…I cannot say enough good things about it!!! I’m obsessed. It’s my new favorite. And I hope everyone will try it so it can be a thriving part of our community for a very long time. The atmosphere is fun and hip. The price points are very reasonable and the value is crazy good. And the food is ah-amazing! I can’t wait to try everything ?️Five stars for these Hawaiians ?Go see for yourselves!

I've been wanting to try this for a few months. It was...just okay. The spam masubi was good. It's served warm, which is different, but I really liked it. The poke bowl l chose was the Sunny Monkey. It lacked some flavor. I can't decide what it was missing, but it was just fine. I wouldn't get it again. They have an extensive menu and I might try again, but probably wouldn't take the family. It was $20 for just me.
