Well it's Friday and my family is outside but they're closed and look closed for a while. Wish they wasnt listed as open since we drove from Arkansas to try this food out.

WARNING: LONG,DELICIOUS REVIEW TO FOLLOW!!!Laid back atmosphere, took me back to my days stationed at ft bragg in North Carolina; very reminiscent of the south. Unless you like true,southern sweet tea,don't get it,is real sweet. I ordered the fried chicken,but made it the dinner with Mac'n'cheese, which was very rich with the different cheeses used, green beans, which had good flavor plus small chunks of ham as well, and fried okra,fried to a perfect golden brown,and topped with a piece of traditional southern cornbread. The fried chicken does take a bit longer than anything else, as its breaded and cooked to order,which takes approximately 15 minutes. It's been a very long time since I've had fried chicken this moist,and not from oil. The dredge,as with everything else,has good flavor and is well seasoned,but not overpowering. There was only one server during my visit; one of the owners, and I've never heard"excuse my reach" so much in a short period of time. Very well mannered and respectful, as well as knowledgeable of the day's specials. Price wise, it's not over priced,but you get what you pay for,and I was very satisfied with my experience. I will definitely come back when I'm able to do so.

The service was very friendly. The food was outstanding. The music in the background was perfect. I can't wait to go again. I recommend this restaurant to everyone.

We really enjoyed our lunch yesterday

Food service and price -- all excellent.

BEST greens we've had in a long time!!I had the catfish with greens and Mac and cheese. Husband had chicken wings, greens and Mac and cheese. Lunch also came with a serving of sweet cornbread. Everything was really good! I could have made a meal just eating greens!!We enjoyed the lunch very much!!

I'll go back every day just for the hot sauce!!!

We had a wonderful lunch. Fresh fried pork chops, wings, & okra! Cornbread was a treat. Lovely to chat with owner. Great food, get there early for best selection of food! Thanks!

First of all a little pricey but everything is these days but if you're willing to spend a little more for some good food polite service nice dining room there give it a try a hidden gem in Joplin when the food is gone it's closed

Love the environment and the at home atmosphere. Fantastic home cooked meal!
