Ok! we were in Joplin last night and wanted to try this place out. They opened at five and we were the second set of customers to be seated. 5 tables total. After 15 minutes we still had no water but the other 4 tables had already been taken care of. We had 4 in our party so we went up to the bar area where all 5-6 staff members were talking and asked if we could at least get some water while we wait. I could tell it was blown off like we were being unreasonable. A few minutes after asking and still no water or acknowledgement of our request, we decided we felt like this was a scenario that we didn’t want to endure especially after the way it had went. I’m not here to bash the staff! Sometimes there’s problems or issues preventing speedy service but just let us know. We understand but without communication it makes it hard to be sympathetic or able to understand why the ball was dropped multiple times. As we left someone in our party said thanks for waiting on us and got the reply thanks for waiting? For the prices I would expect way better service and definitely no witty comebacks to our experience. We left and ate at another steakhouse which was half the price, great service and we didn’t feel like a nuisance! Hopefully management is giving the employees good training on how to provide great service and can learn from this experience, I know we did! This is our experience and have heard good things about this place and bottom line is I’m sad I didn’t get to enjoy the good things I’ve heard.

My husband and I ate there for my 40th birthday. We both had a steak. It was absolutely phenomenal- best steak we have ever had. The garlic mashed potatoes were delicious as well. The service was great, the atmosphere was relaxing, we had a great time.

Great food (especially the French Onion soup), wonderful staff, and a real vintage fine dining ambiance. Plenty of delicious drinks (I enjoyed the tumbleweed dessert cocktail) and a good selection of wines. A completely worth it splurge; I would love to go again.

A great find. We were driving through on a road trip and wanted a nice steak dinner. We were impressed: very nice high-end establishment and service, excellent food, including perfectly prepared rib eye. My only regret is that we live 2000 miles away...which makes it hard for us to be repeat customers. I will remember it fondly.
I think this place may be going downhill like alot of other places . Been going here for a few years but last night paid $250 plus tip for 2 people to SPLIT a steak and lobster meal and have 2-3 drinks .....steak wasnt great like you would expect either . Probably wont be back .

This is a beautiful old restaurant with a long history. It's a local favorite old steakhouse that serves elegance and delicious food. Reservations highly recommended and the perfect special night.

Their lobsters look like they went to Colombia to get a BBL, they are huge! I ate here multiple times and it always hits the spot. Their sides are generous and delicious, and the steaks are juicy and cooked flawlessly. There's no item on the menu that I don't like! Service is also fantastic. I recommend!

The Food was fantastic, a little pricey, but worth it ? good atmosphere ?The server kinda ignored us, after she made a mistake, on our order.The mistake led to, one of us not getting his food, before all of us were done eating. And most of the sides were served way later than the steaks.So overall the food is definitely good, and I hope, the waiter just had a bad day?Parking: Parkering in the back
