Really looked forward to this place and will admit it’s not completely their fault but the experience wasn’t what you want. Food, drinks, desert, top shelf. Unfortunately we were celebrating an accomplishment for our son but seated in the room off the bar. The front patrons were so extremely load we literally couldn’t talk amongst ourselves. This was hard on my 75 yo parents as well. That group with their loud voices, cackling women, and carrying on were more fit for an Applebees. I know the staff wasn’t sure how to handle it as it was obvious to them as well but also would become a large ticket for the night. Just really disappointed a manager or any upper management would have addressed it. Really wanted to make this a great review but eating in silence because you can’t hear your group leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
Had a great dinner with my wife.Definitely recommend coming with the intent on spending that time with a special loved one.The Service was very professional and courteous. The food Quality has its highs and lows. The high: The main courses (me having a steak, my wife having the salmon)Both were exceptional and perfect. Most of the sides we had were also very good. The low:The portions of some of the foods could have been better. The side salad was very small. But the creamed corn was pretty generous!(not complaining) The crab dip could have been less (or more pita chips!)The price: This is obviously a high dollar dinner. However. The quality and the amount of food and service meet expectations.Me and my wife are non-alcoholic drinkers so I can't say anything about most the drinks they offer.Overall definitely would recommend visiting.
Make reservations. It’s just as good as all the reviews say it is. A classic staple steakhouse/bar in Joplin since 1996. Tasteful wine selection, and save room, because the cheesecake is to die for. Just like the sign says, parking in the rear.
Fantastic experience! Great food, but the friendly waitress and bartender made the dining experience the best. Thanks I'll be back when I'm in the area.
Our first ever visit started a little rocky when the wait staff forgot we had been seated. After 30 minutes we finally saw a waitress. That's when our visit got better. My ribeye was good, my wife really enjoyed the Steak Oscar. The sweet cream corn was excellent! My wife also really liked the coffee. Took some chocolate cake home for dessert. Overall, a nice place.
Most wonderful food. We had a private dining experience with our entire extended family. Wilders staff was lovely, accommodating, professional, polite, quick, the food was equally wonderful. We chose a few appetizers and everyone ordered off the menu food came out all together so no one ate alone. We will definitely be back for future family reunions.
Great date night/anniversary dinner!Definitely make reservations as they were busy (Friday night) and there were several Christmas parties going on as well.We ordered drinks and shared the Spinach salad & the Three Onion soup for appetizers - although both were delicious, I HIGHLY recommend the onion soup! Both of us ordered the Steak Oscar, which were prepared to perfection and melted in your mouth (insert drool). I had the Truffled Mac and Cheese and hubby had the Cauliflower Au Gratin, again, both were good but the Mac and cheese was the real winner! We ended the night with the triple layer chocolate cake to go. When we ordered the cake the waitress asked if we were celebrating anything to which we responded ‘our anniversary’ and we were given the cake free.Overall service was good, but there were some long periods between seeing our waitress. One of the owners did stop by, talked to us, packaged up our leftovers etc.I would recommend Wilder’s for a nice dining experience.
The staff was wonderful. We called ahead a s should get a table by 8pm. We got there a little early and we're seated right away. It was a tad bit dark and hard to see the menu. The staff was fantastic, the presentation was lovely. They asked how the steak was (which is was great) - they didn't ask how everything else was. I hated the cauliflower au gratin. I had 2 bites. However everything else was fantastic. Would have enjoyed a different size dish though. The drinks were good too. It was a nice clean dinning experience. With food that taste buds enjoyed.
We live in lebanon mo .Up at casino for weekend. Tired of red oak steak house ,which is good but over priced .We decided to try different steak house & thank God we did .Unbelievable food & our waitress was absolutely polite & great all around. Would recommend tgis place to anyone. Will be definitely be coming back next time down .But make sure call ahead for reservations because always sold out & when u bite into there stacks & sides you will see why
Super cool vibes in this place... You can tell they've been around forever and know EXACTLY how to present perfect food and service.
A group of friends (30) had a private dinner on a limited menu. Service was great. My wife and I shared the absolutely stunning Chilean sea bass. Attend this restaurant regularly and always have a fantastic dining experience.
Everything we had was absolutely fabulous... literally. From Sushi Tuna and Onion Rings to start things off. Then Ribeye, French Pork chops, New York strips, Blackened chicken and my Basil chicken, with Au gratin Cauliflower. Then I was surprised with a birthday cake. To full and had to take it to go. But the first to last bite was of pure chocolate decadence! Our server was above par, and slip in and out give you what you needed without even realizing she was there. Been a server and that's really hard to do, she was great! Thanks Wilder's for a perfect evening!
Amazing food! Spectacular service!
Wilder’s is historic, the setting makes it a great place to go to celebrate or for special dates or just for a nice dinner any time. Always great food and service!
A Joplin institution. Get a filet or you are missing out!! Also ALWAYS order the salad with house dressing and blue cheese, freakin' amazing. I've been a customer since 1984!!!
