I’m writing this review in lieu of the current news. I rated Zinc for 5 starts bc of the wonderful, hardworking people who made this place what it was. Zinc brought a lot to Joplin. It was great to see a place like this bring so much of the community together which is hard to do in Joplin. This was the place that helped me launch my business. I am disappointed to learn that Zinc is closing. I’m also disappointed at the approach the owners took to disclose such information. Not only are they taking away a grand spot where many memories have been made, the way they approached it was not tactful at all. I understand priorities change, however the individuals who ran Zinc day to day deserve better. I’m writing this here bc comments on their Facebook post were deleted or limited. I’d hope accountability is taken and apologies are made mainly to staff. To only give the wonderful faces who made Zinc, Zinc an hour’s notice and less than a month is unprofessional and disheartening.

Love this place. Wish I could transport it to where we live. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Their pastries options are great. Coffee was really good. Unexpected for the size town it is. Tons of meeting space and corners to find some area to work.

Exploring coffee shops since our move to Joplin, and this one stands out as our favorite. The repurposed gas station ambiance, with its white brick walls and black leather seating, creates a unique and inviting space. More importantly, the coffee is a standout – the eggnog chai latte and the deliciously flaky croissants make it a top choice. A gem among Joplin's coffee scene, this spot has become our go-to favorite.

Delightful conversation and even better coffee. I'm not local to Joplin, but if I were you could find me at ZINC every week. I tried their cold brew as well as a seasonal latte, "Folklore", which was an artfully crafted blend of cozy flavors.
A little bit of a wait through the drive-through. But it's so good and so worth the wait. Chai Tea Latte with Oat Milk. And an Amercano with an extra shot of espresso.

If you want good service, apparently you need to go to the drive-thru. We stood stood inside for 5 minutes before we could order, and then we sat there another 20 minutes waiting for our coffee order. I finally asked for my coffee because I'm thirsty, which I really was, then it only took 2 minutes to get it. All of the people in the drive-thru kept going thru and going thru and going thru.There were only two people working in the kitchen area. So it is understandable on a busy Saturday morning that they might get behind.
