Special thanks to our server, Lauren E., who went above and beyond to make the night memorable. My friend got a special acknowledgement from the live singer. Lauren was knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely kind. Her recommendations were spot on. We tried the crab cakes, meatballs, Wagyu carpaccio, and the A5 Japanese strip, all of which were phenomenal. My friend felt so celebrated and taken care of, and it truly made the evening special. We’re so grateful we were able to get a reservation, and we can’t wait to come back again soon!

We had a great experience at 1587. We have been for full dinner service and cocktails and the staff has been amazing. The price point is comparable to most steakhouses in Kc and the food quality is great. We have had the oysters, lobster roll, whipped ricotta, bone in ribeye, filet, pasta, Branzino and a few sides. The food has always been stellar and drinks always live up to the hype. Our bartenders and servers have been amazing both times. I highly recommend people check this place out. It’s definitely a new gem in Kc. We will be back many more times! ❤️💛

Our server Nautica was only part of reasons but compared to other places that offer the same menu and ambiance, it was miles away from where it should-no excuse that it is new. Overall a very disappointing experience, I've never seen Medium Rare Waygu that flat. They attempted to take our plates while still eating and acted like asking for drinks was an inconvenience. For the price you are much better of at Capital Grille or Stock Hill.

First of all, I am not one to give bad reviews about any establishment. However, when it calls for it, I give it. When we arrived on a Thursday Evening around 7 PM for our first time trying the brand new 1587. We had high expectations as so has everyone else, being it was our KC Chiefs Star Players Patrick Mahomes & Travis Kelsey’s restaurant. When we got there we went strait to the bar and noticed they had 5 staff members behind the bar, of which 3 were talking among themselves not paying any attention to the customers, us for one. We had to ask to see a menu. The staff had no smiles on their faces and it felt like they were forced to be there, like they were not enjoying their jobs. Being I have been in hospitality management I understand the frustration of being in demand by the customers expecting service. We then moved to the end of the bar where we had to again ask to see a food menu, sadly, We were given 1 menu for 2 people. We started off with ordering the meatballs, when they were delivered they were cold. We sent those back. About 10 minutes later we were given our new meatballs, but no serving spoon, no plates, utensils, or napkins. This time meatballs were wonderful. We then ordered the chicken and and mashed potatoes. Dinner was served roughly 20 minutes later. Again, we had no knives and had to ask for knives to cut our chicken. I must say that first impressions are lasting impressions. Although the ambiance was wonderful and warming, the staff and food was below our expectations. Sadly, this place is by far over rated considering the below average experience we had experienced. I would probably go back and give them another chance to make a better impression but reluctant to do so. I would think twice and don’t got there with high anticipation.

We absolutely loved that the menu at 1587 Prime is designed for sharing—it meant we got to try everything (and I mean, 11 dishes worth of everything). Highlights included the Wagyu meatballs, Hamachi, lobster rolls, and the 32oz Porterhouse. Do yourself a favor and spring for the Flambé option on the steak—it’s worth every penny for both the show and the incredible depth of flavor it adds. Desserts? We sampled three, but the Apple Pie stole the show—an absolute don’t skip!
Service was top-notch. Ryan was friendly, knowledgeable, and helped us make great choices by comparing menu items to dishes from some of our other favorite spots. We’ll definitely be asking for him next time!
The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance—modern, lively, and energetic without being so loud you can’t chat with your table. But the best surprise? Live music! Not just background tunes, but an actual singer strolling through the restaurant, serenading tables. Such a fun and unique touch.
The only negative—and really, the only thing that kept the night from being flawless—was the reservation system. It’s nearly impossible to reach a human being, which was frustrating and started the evening on a low note. The app works fine, and reservations open 21 days out, but getting a time before 9 PM feels like winning the lottery. We left multiple voicemails hoping to adjust our reservation but never received a call back. Hopefully this improves in the future because the experience itself more than deserves a smoother start! Yes, it’s a pricier spot—but for the quality, presentation, and overall experience, it felt totally worth it. We’ll be back for round two!
