Great restaurant. Not as German as you might imagine. Had tasting menu with great dishes, good portions, and good value price. Definitely returning soon.

I partook a four-course menu with a date on Valentine’s Day. The overall experience left both of us more to be desired, especially for the price that I paid.
We went in a bit early and were seated a bit after 3:40PM. The restaurant was almost empty at the time.
After the second course (pasta), we asked for bread to mop up the sauce because the flavor was pretty good but the serving size was small. The bread service took more than 10 minutes to come to our table, but the bread was only a bit lukewarm and came with hard butter, not softened or seasoned, so I was a bit perplexed why it took that long. (Also the bread service was not included and cost $12 extra for 4 half slices of bread and two soft pretzel sticks. Make that what you will.)
After the bread service, and the pasta plates were removed, we waited for more than 30 minutes for the venison to be served. The venison felt barely lukewarm, while the potato gratin was hot as expected, making me suspect something wrong happened to the kitchen. My date was not impressed by the venison, either, commenting on the lack of flavor without the blueberry gastrique sauce.
The dessert was not impressive, either. I didn’t like the dollop of the whipped cream as it contributed no flavor to the cake, and that the ice cream was more of a sorbet with large ice crystals and sloppy consistency.
Finally, we finished the 4 courses after exactly 2 hours, after paying $98 per person (as priced, excluding everything else like beverage and a la carte). My date didn’t find the meal worthwhile for the price and felt sorry for me. Ugh.

The food first off is amazing. They really spend time figuring out the right ingredients and combinations to make it a great tasting experience, not just a place to eat.
The service is wonderful! They are attentive, explain the menu well and are quick to get you anything you may want.
Bonus points for this business because it was my wife's birthday and I special ordered a cake on short notice. They made it for me and I was able to pick it up for her birthday. It was very special and I greatly appreciated it.
If you haven't tried this restaurant, you're definitely missing out and you need to change that ASAP.

Highly mediocre. The atmosphere is great, service is pretty damn good, but the food is just mediocre. We had the poutine, which was super flavorful, and tasted great, but even the fries not covered in gravy were super soggy. If the fries were crispy, 11/10, as is 7/10. I had the wild boar, awful. So over cooked it was like sawdust, and lacked any flavor. Best part of the dish was the spatzel, which is…just spatzel.
Overall, a super mediocre night out for $200. I’ve heard nothing but great reviews of Affäre, and left highly disappointed.

Food was phenomenal! The service impeccable
I highly recommend this restaurant. We had the tuna tartare and smoked spinach salad to start. They were both so good. I can’t pick which one I liked better. For dinner I had the veal schnitzel with fries. It was to die for. I’m not a big seafood person, but my partner had the seafood risotto with shrimp, scallops, octopus and smoked farm egg. He absolutely loved it. I tried a bite of his risotto and it was so tasty.

We made reservations for seven to celebrate family birthdays. When we got there, We realized we accidentally made the reservationr for two. The staff said no problem and did everything to accommodate and deliver a wonderful dining experience. From the service to the food to the painted table dessert everything was top notch!
