Having visited Anchor Island several times before, today I brought my son as I wanted him to enjoy the superior fare, friendly service, and interesting atmosphere. He now wants to bring his friends.

This place is an absolute gem! We drove 20 minutes to come try it and we will be back. This may have been the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. I got the Egg Breakfast Chorizo Burrito. Typically I cover my burritos in Cholula sauce and sour cream for added spice and flavor but this burrito needed nothing extra. I did add jalapenos, which I recommend if you like a little extra spice, but it would've been fine without. I'm not a coffee drinker so I tried the strawberry lemonade and it was DELICIOUS. And it came out in a little tiki glass which was such a cute touch.
My husband got a steak bowl and he enjoyed it. He wants to come back to try some other dishes, too.
The staff were all friendly and helpful answering my questions about the menu items. The vibe was immaculate. It's such a cool spot.
I highly recommend checking out this spot if you're in the KC metro area. We came from Grandview and it was straight down 71hwy for us so it's easy to get to.

I had the chori papa bowl, and it was SOOOOOO good. The people working there were awesome, and the place has a good vibe. My buddy and I played with a jenga set they had while we waited for our food -- 10 out of 10 experience!

Really wanted to make this my spot. It's walking distance from where I'm staying. But, every time I go, I feel like the staff doesn't want me there. They aren't kind about helping customers get what they want - every time I go, I can't get the right drink and instead of helping me figure it out, they talk over me and are dismissive. It doesn't create a welcoming space. And, every espresso shots I've had has been over-extracted. I'm really bummed. Yesterday was my last visit.
