We visited Anthony’s on a Saturday night and had a wonderful evening. Right from the start the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. The arrangement of pictures, the dark green throughout the space, and the beautiful woodworking give the room a classic feel. The busts of Roman figures on the walls add to the character and charm. I also couldn’t help but notice the beautiful old cigarette dispenser near the bar.

The food was excellent. I was disappointed they didn’t have chicken piccata, but they did offer a lemon dish that delivered great flavor. The pasta and mains were cooked well and the portion sizes were generous. At the end of the meal I ordered an old fashioned and it was amusing to see it arrive with two different types of cherries.

Service was attentive without feeling rushed. The Saturday night energy felt lively but comfortable and the overall experience made the evening feel special. I highly recommend Anthony’s for anyone who enjoys classic Italian food and a warm, character-filled dining room.

Oh man!! This place is why I love Kansas City. This downtown restaurant is what many “old school” Italian joints wish they were. The location, building, and entrance are nothing short of perfect. Ambiance, and in particular, the small wooden bar, is fantastic. Service is wonderful. Great music. And we haven’t even reached the food. Opening bread is wonderful. Italian salad, with their own Italian dressing (add ground pepper and parm) is incredible. And their signature ravioli Jerry Jean with an added meatball was nothing short of incredible. Support this place. There aren’t many left in this corporate world.

Very good dining experience. Our party had many different items on the menu. Chicken fettuccine and the ravioli was fabulous!
Our server was great. Very attentive and food came out right on point.

I’m only giving it four stars because the stuffed artichoke I had wasn’t very good. It was super watery. But I went back a few times after that and had the fried ravioli and their version of spaghetti and it was delicious ❤️ PLUS they call you sweet heart and darling and that can put a smile on anyone’s face. The staff is super amazing and the girl with the curly hair was exemplary in service. Will be back soon!

Staff was friendly. The salad was just lettuce. Nothing else. The pasta tastes soggy and flavorless covered in oil . Shrimp was good but that’s the only thing that gave this meal even a dime of flavor. We got it sealed fresh. Was really hoping for an authentic Italian restaurant for a dish to be $29+. Olive Garden would have been better. You can tell the owner does not care about quality either as the replies to their customers, they seem to think they are the only right ones.

If I could rate with no stars, wouldn’t get a star but needing a star to review. Anthony’s was awful other than our server. I felt bad for her. The food was horrible. We ordered a fried artichoke and it wasn’t cooked all the way. We had ordered chicken Parmesan and lasagna with meat ball both meals flavorless. The lasagna with meatball tasted like great value and no flavor the meat ball tasted like it came out of a bag. The chicken Parmesan was horrible, with no taste like it was warmed up in the microwave. The sauce on both meals tasted like it came out of a can. The only good thing about our meal was the water. Spent $100 on flavorless food. After we left and told a couple of our family members where we went they couldn’t believe it told us they couldn’t believe they were still in business! If you want authentic Italian food please go somewhere else!

Red sauce was mediocre. Garlic dip for bread was fantastic.

Food and service were great, especially the service. Everyone seems happy to work here, which I love to see. Jazzy dip was divine. Atmosphere lost one star because the music choice was a bit odd at times.
