The Olio wit clams was wndrfl & Brandon did an outstndng
This is a tough review for me. I want to like this place more but the only thing that made it worth the taxi ride was the service. Food is alright, pretty sure it's not homemade pasta. The atmosphere is a mix of Italian garage sale stuff and old dusty fixtures that should be replaced. I didn't know I would be stepping back in time to the 1970s. I've been to Italy and know what real Italian food is. I've had Italian relatives cook homemade pasta. This place is just okay. I enjoyed the company I was with, but no one was wowed by the food. And we all tried a lot of stuff. The best thing was the fried mozzarella, and you know they were not making those triangles to fry. Oh and if someone from the place reads my review, please change your music, I felt like I was in a convenience store. One minute it was oldies like Frank Sinatra, appropriate, then it was some R&B or rap. Not appropriate
NOTE: In response to the owner's response to my review, if you can't take an honest review, then don't read them. I never said I didn't like the music, I said it wasn't appropriate meaning it doesn't fit the atmosphere. But who cares about what customers think, you know what people like obviously, and don't need to cater to your customers. I'm glad you like 50 year old decorations because your grandparents put them there. Doesn't mean customers like it. But again, it's more important to make yourself feel good and not your customers. I guess that's why there were half a dozen or so empty tables for dinner. Cheers!
Amazing experience. Hayden is a great server and made our night fun
Creative menu with lots of fusion dishes. Very memorable.
Nice older restaurant, Good Food and Service!
My wife and I had dinner here for our anniversary. Love the old school Italian vibe. I had the veal parmesan and my wife had the Jerri Jean ravioli. We both liked our entrees but the star of the show was dessert. We shared the connolis and tiramisu. Both were amazing. Will definitely be back again.
Worst Italian food I’ve ever had. Chicken was slimy, sauce was terrible. Cannoli had decent taste but was stale. Seems like low quality ingredients, I would not return.
Used to be my favorite place, but we were there on New Year’s eve. Our waitress was superb. The food was just mediocre. It does have great atmosphere. I’m sorry was just disappointed.
4 sisters, all born in the area, visiting KC for the first time since 1967! Found Anthony’s for some great Italian takeout. Reminded us of one of our favorite local Italian restaurants back home. Friendly hosts and staff, food was nicely packed and delicious. There was a mistake on the online menu but they went above and beyond to make it right, offering a refund and Reid called us to be sure we would get our money back before they closed for the night. Very generous and impressed with their service.
Anthony’s is the best!
The meat sauce is fantastic! It reminds me of a home cooked meal by my grandmother.
Vito and staff never forget to thank you for coming in and visiting.
Whether you are coming in for dinner and drinks or there two for $25 lunch special, you will have a great meal in a place that has retained its historic atmosphere.

Disappointed! Pasta Angela was soggy and drowning in flavorless cream, chicken spiedini was oily yet tough. The appetizer garlic oil dip and old fashion was the highlight of the meal. However, our server was awesome and attentive!

Service and ambiance were great, but the food wasn't up to par. First off, the bread and butter was like a joke. The bread tasted store bought. I expected like a nice fresh oven baked bread. The dishes we chose were the chicken parmesan and ravioli with meatball. Chicken parmesan didn't have much flavor. The cheese on top of the chicken was hard and probably melted in the microwave, which is how it tasted and felt. The ravioli and meatball weren't that great. The sauce was very sweet. I felt like I was eating ketchup with pasta. The single meatball was bland, no flavor. The side salads that came with our meals was honestly a joke. The presentation wasn't there. The best thing at dinner was the peach sangría. This wasn't my first time here, but it will be my last.

Shout to Brandon for serving our party of 35 like a champ! He and his partner were phenomenal, and very respectful. Drinks & food were delicious as usual!

First time in. I was concerned when they couldn’t find our reservation, but they found a table for us. We had a lovely anniversary dinner, including cheese and olives appetizer, unlimited bread (so good,) leafy green salads, and two different kinds of pasta dishes. Our server, Babette, was spot on with her descriptions of the food and wine, and our selections were perfect because of that. It took some time for the food to come out, but we were served plenty of bread while we waited. We will definitely be back!
