Without a doubt the worst meal my wife and I have ever had. We were excited to try Anton's after passing by it so many times. We ordered the steak kabobs, wedge salad, and charcuterie board. The salad was fine, but everything else was a public safety hazard. We should have known better from the sad, gray raspberries on the charcuterie board. The kabobs smelled like my uncles pig farm, and tasted like they smelled. Absolutely revolting meal. With that said the bartender was nice and I do not want to shine a bad light onto him.
Food isn’t as good as it used to be, and it doesn’t justify the high prices anymore. It has more of a bar and restaurant vibe than a premium steakhouse which it’s priced for.

Steak frites should be a straight forward a meal to get right. And can speak volumes on the quality of a restaurant’s offerings.
Fresh fried potatoes, juicy slices of steak with a delicious sauce.
This place serves up a messy pile of end cuts on frozen crinkle fries. Perhaps worthy of a kids meal.
This place feels like a bar. And apparently serves bar food.
Lobster scampi was also weak.
Service and drinks were decent.
If you want to be a bar, carry on.
Want to be a restaurant, pay attention to your plates.

My first experience a few years ago was not good-- food was bland, expensive, and nothing to remember. Decided to give them another shot on NYE. I should have known when they were the only restaurant with last mintue reservations. At 630pm, there were plenty of empty tables and hardly anyone at the bar. My friend and I got the steak and fries...cold crinkle cut fries and tough and chewy steak. Two others got the Philly sandwhich with fries...hardly any meat on the sandwich and the meat that was on it was tough. Another got a strip and said it was tough. Overall, very disappointed. I do not know how this place stays open. Quality sucks, especially for the money. I get a much better steak for the money at Longhorn.

Came in for a drink after lunch at Lula's last month. My partner's always recommended this place, and after visiting I can understand why. We sampled the craft cocktail selection while chatting with the bartender, who was very patient and attentive. He told us about the area, his time there, and a few other places for drinks that we've yet to try. The drinks were under 50, tip included.
Parking: The location is right next to a stop on the Kansas City streetcar, so it's way more accessible than the average spot.

We had dinner here on NYE and it was awful. We ordered wedge salads, steak frites, and the pot roast. The salads were drowning in bleu cheese dressing, the steak was fatty, the fries were clearly just out of a freezer bag, and the pot roast was a pile of shredded meat that had a faint flavor of being burnt. Even the root veggies which looked deceptively as if they had been roasted since the color was gone, were hard and undercooked. The best part of the meal was... diet coke. So disappointing, and a waste of $150. Service was very slow even though it was not crowded.

I used to rave about this place, but the experience I had tonight was absolutely abysmal. Not only has the quality of the food plummeted to levels on par with your local greasy diner, the staff on hand was either incompetent or apparently on strike. I understand that this is the week of Xmas, but if that's the kind of service on offer, either close or offer steep discounts.
Not only did we have to wait 20 minutes to even get water, by the third time that the check was brought to us incorrectly I had to ask for a pen to write down what had been ordered. I found out when we got home that there were several items that had been paid for multiple times that weren't noticed.
I brought clients here tonight in a party of 4 to show them a good time and have been so thoroughly humiliated that I can confidently say I will never go back.

Service was slow and scattered, parts of our orders were missed, our checks were all messed up. It was either the C team or skeleton crew because of the holiday.

We visited for the first time this weekend. The food and service were extremely lacking. The KC strip and the ribeye were so tough and rubbery! When I tried cutting into the steak in front of our waitress, the knife would barely cut through because it was so tough. Her words verbatim “Yeah that doesn’t look right”. The sauce of the mac n cheese was so thin and watery, that it was like cheese soup with some noodles thrown in. Also, if you’re paying $50+ per steak, your martini should not be served in a stemless wine glass. Save your money and go to Texas Roadhouse for a better experience.

Restaurantji Recommends
This is one of the first times I have left a review on anyone's restaurant.
A few interesting things here from start to finish but here to review the food as I would not recommend. Disappointed in what I paid for a 2 person meal that was not good. 2 $50 steaks that were extremely tough to chew and took EFFORT to cut. Quality of the meat was a low quality steak - beyond disappointing for that price. The sides were fine. But just that, fine. We had the gouda bacon mac and cheese and brussel sprouts. Again, not worth the extra charge for the sides. My wife and I both ate ours however witnessed another table send their steaks back.
Overall, disappointed from the quality of food for the price we paid in what we thought was going to be a great celebration to end our weekend traveling to KC.
Service and staff was great.

Pros: Friendly bartender, nice building and interiors, parking. Potato latkes were a highlight (good portion, flavor, and texture)
Cons: Only American wines available by the glass, $16 glass of wine served in a stemless glass!, steaks are expensive and super tough (these cows weren’t properly cared for in life or in death, a shame).

The chicken tenders were absolutely amazing! I like to start with a strong positive. The steak, the only reason I walked across the street from the Hampton, was a low quality cut. Very VERY tough patches of gristle and vein in 60% of my KC strip. The Au Poivre is a sauce and NOT a true au poivre. Bone marrow butter tasted like margarine. Bar service while waiting on my food was great but while I was drinking my soda, some worker guy just sat at the end of the bar staring at me. Truly threw me off. Not worth the 110$ total spent

Overall the prices are ultimately far too high for the quality of food served. Nothing was inedible, but I was disappointed with each component of our meal.
My husband had the filet with the peppercorn sauce and I had the ribeye with the horseradish sauce. Both steaks were desperately lacking in flavor and leaned heavily on the sauces, which were under seasoned and over priced. Simply adding more finishing salt would have really made a big difference because the cut and cook were otherwise fine (however the ribeye was tougher than I’d expect).
For sides we got the carrots and Brussels sprouts which were steamed, bland and disappointing. My old fashioned was served on the rocks instead of on a single cube, which was also less than ideal and the margarita tasted like low quality mix.
We ended with dessert, the crème brûlée, which was also not very satisfying—served with mushy fruit preserves instead of fresh fruit which wrecks the satisfying crack of the sugar. For a check over $250 for just two people, I wish there was any part of the meal that I could recommend.
Servers seemed overwhelmed but were polite, and the overall atmosphere is charming.
