I got the red wine and beef pie and it was amazing I don't normally leave reviews but it was so good that I had to go on here and instantly leave a review I will be back for more definitely recommend
The lamb cutlets for dinner were incredible and fairly priced. The staff was really friendly and suggested a cup of coffee to finish which really hit the spot.

We went to Banksia for breakfast and really enjoyed the food. Each of us ordered different dishes and we were all satisfied with our choices. We did ask for extra bacon, but it was overdone, so I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. The atmosphere wasn't very memorable, as it had a bit of a sterile vibe.

I have been here for breakfast, lunch and coffee a few times in the old location and it was always amazing.
We went to try their dinner service last night and it was incredible. The cocktails (Kentucky Iced Coffee and Sneaky Pete) were some of the best we’ve ever had. We woke up the next morning still thinking about our dinner. My husband had the Piri Piri and I had the Chili Prawn linguini. We are already planning when we can go back because the food was incredible. The owner came around and was talking to us about the menu and he’s very personable and made the experience.
I highly recommend going here for any meal of your day for an incredible, 10/10 all around restaurant.
In town for a conference and stopped in for a carryout dinner. Menu didn't have the highly rated mushroom ragu listed, so I ordered another pasta dish and had a glass of wine at the bar. Owner came by, and I mentioned I was disappointed the mushroom ragu wasn't on the menu. He said to wait a minute while he checked with the chef. Voila! He made it happen, and it was amazing! THAT is customer service! I would go back in a minute. Staff was very friendly and I was totally comfortable ordering, dining alone at the bar. Great experience!

Great location right off the train line. Parking isn't great, but there are some street spots and a few garages around they will validate. Really good breakfast/brunch food, tasty coffee options, cool environment..great location if hitting another streetcar location!

Banksia needs to be packed for dinner. I should have to fight for a reservation the food and service was that good. We got to try kangaroo! We had a few different wines and we tried to pick Australian/New Zealand wines to keep it regional to the roots of Banksia. The Shiraz from South Australia was wonderful! The lamb was delicious and the Chili Prawn Linguine is out of this world. The desserts are perfect which makes sense because Banksia is a wonderful bakery at heart.
If you have been to Banksia for breakfast/lunch the new dinner menu is fantastic and you won’t be disappointed.
The new location is also way better since you can actually find a seat when you show up at the super busy times.
It’s a great date night option! Please give the dinner menu a try!

Banksia has moved to the town pavilion downtown, I loved that little place before but this is cool too. Looks like they have added breakfast booze to the menu as well. The biscuits and gravy are a bit different than before...less leek or fennel perhaps but the biscuit is good and I still adore their gravy...although I would have taken another scoop. B's & G's $10

Well first impression was turn around and find another restaurant. Very awkward walking in not knowing if its a cafeteria style walk up order or is it sit down and be served?? Do you go left or right?. There were about 6 people behind the counter after conversation dried up we had a woman help us but it felt as if we were inconveniencing her time. Very dry, not enthusiastic about the food options we were asking about or anything really. We ordered 4 meals/drinks paid and reluctantly left a 20% tip yielding hope for a smile or anything resonating a smile or welcoming staff;never happened. Food arrived, pies were fantastic actual mouth melt watering delicious. My eggs showed up cold it’s just Benedict’s. The other food was all pretty much mediocre coffees weren’t good for the price. None of us will be back with our families. Interior design is boring, very bland. After months of waiting, this was a huge disappointment.

We’ve been going to Banksia for years now. Their breakfast and bakery is the best, especially their breakfast burrito, eggs benny, and almond croissant!!
We tried their dinner for the first time, and was not surprised to report that is was delicious! The lamb cutlets might be the best lamb we can remember ever having.
Great vibes, great food, great service.

Good lamb pie ready when I requested online for a to-go order. The portion size is not huge for the price, but it's tasty.

Excellent baked goods. We had the cinnamon roll, Pavlova with chantilly cream and the lamington. The lamington has a thin layer of jelly in the middle. By American standards, it’s a dry cake, but not overly dry to the point it’s not good, it’s a very good pastry.
The pavlova was sweet with an excellent texture that melts in your mouth. The cinnamon roll was done very well and had a lot of icing and cinnamon. All are highly recommended.
