The food alone was 4-stars.The service wasnt great, but i come for the food. Second time having this and its sooo good. Im super picky so for me to try a new restaurant and like anything says something.I prefer lunch over dinner because of price; cant beat saving $3.
I always have a great time here I particularly love unwinding on Fridays after work with a Jazzaritta some appetizers and their live band. This is truly a KC Jewel ?
The chicken and shrimp, fried calamari, fried crab cakes were awesome. Nice atmosphere, the owner/ chef came to visit us, and nice variety.
My family and I where in Kansas City for the Pink Ribbon Invitational Gymnastic Competition. Friends that reside in Kansas City brought us to the Bayou on the Vine for dinner. There was a $5.00 coverage charge secondary to DJ providing music. Atmosphere was fabulous. Staff was nice and personable. Food was excellent. Cocktails were good. Why 4 instead of 5 stars? It took a while for our food to come out. The server failed to immediately inform us that one of the entrees was not available. With 5 guest 3 meals came out and about 10 minutes later the last 2 were served. The restaurant did comp 1 of the entrees that took a while to be served without us asking. Empty plates were not removed in a timely manner to help make room for entrees. Server reached over plates and drinks instead of coming in between us. Next time we are in Kansas City, MO will definitely come back.
The food was great, the atmosphere lively and music and drinks a real bonus!!! I personally recommend the Jazz-arita!!!
I love the atmosphere. Live music is amazing. The wings are delish. I wish they were open later especially with a 10.00 cover fee. Tammy was my waitress and she is amazing! I have such a great time with her. I wish they'd turn the music up a little more during the band break. The drinks are pretty good. The atmosphere keeps me coming back.
Great food and service! Live band experience is amazing, especially with Charlotte Fletcher and Soigne!
The Atmosphere on the Bayou was great! This was my first time going and it was laid back, friendly, the service was fantastic, I love it! Will definitely be going back! And it's for all races, that made it extra special!!!!!
Fun, funny, and exciting. Calvin the electric guitar player was absolutely phenomenal. Great band and food.
Outstanding food. The jambalaya pasta was exceptional. I can’t wait to try the catfish po’ boy and the chicken and sausage gumbo. It is a very inviting place with friendly staff.

The portions were so questionable that I assumed it was an appetizer dish. My dinner came on seperate plates. The rice lacked flavor and effort. The red beans was lackluster. I mean, there was no flavor, whatsoever. The catfish was soft and squishy to the touch and surprisingly served with ketchup. I thought I would at least get cocktail sauce. Hell, I would've took tartar sauce. The waitress wasn't that good either. She was very unattentive. Most of the time she was sitting down with other people eating french fries. When I told her I was unimpressive with my food and disappointed she just simply walked away. That's my review. Don't don't don't don't go. Please don't waste your money. Try "Jazz". Their food is what The Bayou should be. Fire.
It was good. The fries were really crispy. I also ordered a crab burger. It was pretty good but a little salty. That's why I'm doing 4 stars instead of 5.
The wings are yummy. But what restaurant runs out of French fries. Plus the service is slow.
So went there for the happy hour! At first they stated happy hour was over at 6 and then they want to say at 10 when they close at 11! (Confused) then just ask to purchase the sauce and she said not if you don’t purchase the wings well if your in a business of making money why make a stipulation on how u make money. Sad that why wot of black businesses fail because black always have a nasty attitude
Really good place to hang out for live entertainment had a blast
