I have had Blackhole Bakery on my must try list for far too long. It's located nowhere near me, so the timing just hasn't been right. My husband and I made it our mission last weekend, and by the skin of our teeth, we arrived with 45 minutes to spare. Luckily, there were still some delicious delectables waiting patiently with our names on them. We tried the pistachio tea cake (my fav), chocolate babka w/ oreo topping, a blueberry croissant, sticky buns, and definitely not planned, but a delightful surprise for later, the garlic bread, in which we made some of the most incredible italian sandwiches later that night for dinner. Everything was exactly like I knew it would be, thoughtful, flavorful, and beautiful. You definitely feel the love in every bite! Great service guys! I promise not to wait so long in returning.

Most places buy frozen croissant dough from restaurant supplier but these taste hand made. The quirky flavors are wonderful and a nice change from the same 4 things on every coffee shop menu, again bc they buy those from suppliers too. Everything was really good. I loved it. I respect how long it takes to make real viennoiserie.

The staff were so nice. I’ll be back and I already raved to my family and friends.

Best bakery in KC, no question. If they have the pistachio/halva/dark chocolate chip cookies ya gotta get one.

Awesome spot. A lot of people told me this is the best place to get pastries and while I’m still scoping out other spots to see if it truly is the best, it certainly did not disappoint

This is my favorite bakery in KC. I have not had one thing here that has not been top notch. The caramelized onion and goat cheese puff is my guilty pleasure. I took a box of pastries in to work one morning and the next day two of my coworkers went in to get more. The puff pastry is always flaky and buttery. Seriously, if you haven't been here you're doing yourself a grave disservice.

I ordered several different things to try such as the banana pudding pastry, pistachio cookies, and two different flavors of the donut balls! Everything was delicious! It was clean and everything looked tasty in there. They offered other goodies to buy such as coffee, granola, gummy bears, T-shirts, etc. I didn’t see anywhere to sit down and eat it, but maybe they are working on that as the other side of their building appeared to be getting some work.

Fantastic. Lemon mochi donut was ridiculously good, everything else was excellent but, my goodness they were good. Gotta try it if you're in the area.

One of the best Bakeries in KC. I try to stop by when im in the area - they sell out of favorites early and typically there is a line.

I visited Black Hole Bakery for the first time recently with a friend, and I will definitely be back! The atmosphere of the shop is space themed and fun and the guys behind the counter were upbeat and friendly.

Now about the goods. The pastries are some of the best I’ve experienced in the KC area. Inventive, aesthetic, and phenomenal in flavor and texture. The croissants rivaled any authentic French patisserie. The blueberry croissant was *chef’s kiss.* The plum galette was beautiful, featured wonderfully ripe, in-season plums, and had a surprise layer of almond paste underneath that really enhanced the flavor of the plums. I’m not a huge frosting person, so I ordered the one without icing—the orange mochi with a sugared exterior—on a whim, and holy wow!! Between the orange flavored sugar on the outside, to the perfectly crispy donut exterior and a delightfully chewy center with what I believe were candied orange peels?? inside made for a truly surprising burst of flavors that I have dreamed about since my last visit. Highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
