I think I just had the best pumpkin cookie with brown butter in the world. All the sweets I got were amazing.

Had the butter croissant. Not sure if it was sitting out a a couple of hours or a left over croissant from the day before but it was slightly dry, however the taste was good. This is much better than the croissant from ibis bakery!

Delicious treats and a ton of cute baking accessories (jams, simple syrups, cookie mixes, etc). Can’t wait to go back!

Great sandwiches and bread but it's super hit or miss whether they'll have a loaf I'm looking for, and there's no schedule to try to plan around when to go to get something specific.

Incomprehensibly unprofessional staff that play on their phones and don’t serve customers. Horrible baked goods that are so bad I don’t know how this place stays open, combined with prices higher than gourmet artisan bakeries that serve fluffy amazing pastries. This place has been consistently bad for years and all I’m left to think is the only thing keeping them open is location and tourist money. I desperately wish the city would kick them out and let a better bakery.

The best place in KC for bierocks - they were so tasty and tasted authentically made! Happy to find out you can order them fresh or frozen.

Bloom Baking Co. has amazing flavors.
It’s difficult to make a frosting that stands up and tastes great at the same time, the cream cheese is very successful at this. The raspberry frosting has great raspberry flavor, unfortunately it also has a distinct flavor of vegetable oil (crisco). Maybe a little less frosting would help. I know the raspberry jam definitely helps ❣️

This was my 6th visit and beyond the overpriced and wildly inconsistent patisserie I bought a loaf of focaccia which was in fact an overworked overcooked challah bread in the shape of focaccia. It's actually so tough I couldn't tear a piece from it I actually had to cut it itself and no structure no distribution of large air pockets none. Shockingly however it is the best seasoned loaf in the entire city.

Bread, tarts, and macarons are all delicious. Cupcakes weren’t great though. Frosting tasted old. I’ll definitely go back but avoid anything frosted next time.

Cute little place with lots of yummy options. Went with the trusted Choc Chunk Cookie.

UPDATE: Owner contacted me within 24 hours. Too late to have the flowers taken off, the wedding was over, but it was clear this was an all around snafu that has been dealt with. They are supposed to always show the cake, would have redecorated it if I'd seen it, and the person on staff at the time did not give us directions to leave it out long enough to soften the icing so it wouldn't fall apart when we tried to cut it. The owner made it as right as she could, under the circumstances, upgrading the review due to the owner taking responsibility. It probably would have been awesome once warmed up to room temp.

We’ll laugh about this later, but not today. Ordered a small cake for an impromptu wedding in six days. Ordered vanilla with vanilla, super simple, everything white, including flowers. They sealed the cake and didn’t present it to me for review, I foolishly trusted them. I must have gotten someone else’s cake, this was a mess of spring flowers, in childish spring colors. It fell to pieces on cutting, couldn’t even hold together long enough for the first slice to be held. Tasted dry, icing was harder than I expected, fell in chunks. What a waste of money!

Bloom recently did a birthday cake for me and in my opinion it had a firmness consistent with having previously been frozen. As I was serving it the cake was falling out of the icing in chunks (there was a lot of icing). The cake just didn't have that moist cake texture you hope to have.

They have the best spinach feta pie I've ever tasted. You can taste the quality in the ingredients. There's definitely plenty of butter. The employee working the front was very friendly and spent some time helping us. We'll be back.

Parking: I love the river market area for its free and plentiful parking (outside of market time)
