Barrio on Brookside is hands-down my new favorite spot in Kansas City! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and lively, with the perfect mix of great music and a neighborhood vibe that makes you feel at home.
Our server, Lauren, was an absolute rockstar - genuinely the best server I’ve had anywhere in a long time. She was super friendly, had great menu recommendations (the carnitas tacos and queso were unreal!), and checked in just the right amount without ever making us feel rushed. She even remembered our names and gave us the best margarita pairing suggestions - I didn’t know I could love a jalapeño margarita this much!
The food was incredible - fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. My friends and I couldn’t stop raving about the chips and guac, and we ended up ordering a second round of tacos because they were just that good.
Lauren made the night memorable, and the whole team at Barrio brought the kind of energy that makes you want to come back again and again. If you’re looking for amazing food, killer drinks, and top-notch service, ask for Lauren - you won’t regret it!

THIS IS THE PLACE YOU’RE LOOKING FOR!! I’ve been here before and it’s always wonderful but coming in the warm weather is NEXT LEVEL! The patio is perfect - good vibes, good music, and TVs for all the games. Perfect for the weekend or happy hour after work!
Pro tip: order the burnt end quesadilla and a skinny marg with a tajin rim 😋🤩

My first experience will be my last. I ordered crispy beef tacos to go. I got home and had chicken tacos. I called the restaurant and they said they would refund me and yet the charge still posted. They also use flour tortillas for their crispy tacos which is odd. I have no clue what their beef tacos taste like as I never received them. I was not impressed. I’ve had to make several calls into the restaurant and apparently they can’t keep a manager on duty to take care of this. Go somewhere else. I’m told to call back another time. How is this place even in business?!?!?

Dietary restrictions: No GF menu, but knowledgeable waiters/waitresses helped to make ordering gluten free simple and worry-free.
Book a birthday party here and everyone showed up and they were closed .No one called us to even inform us that they were closed. Called the other Barrio to see if we could be accommodated and we were told we were informed by the GM (which we were not) that they were closed they couldn’t accommodate our party it was too big .
