Our friends who have lived in Kansas City for years suggested we go to Brown & Loe for dinner before seeing Cats at MTH (the show was fantastic! Best version I've seen). So I made a reservation. We arrived at 5:15 for our reservation and were seated immediately in Chloe's section. She was fantastic from start to finish. You may wish to ask for her because she is just a fantastic person and competent and capable server. We started out with appetizers. My friends ordered the calamari. My wife loves that, but I don't so she was happy to have some. I ordered half a dozen blue point oysters on the half shelf. They were very good. I tried a piece of a calamari and to my surprise, enjoyed it. It was not overcooked or over breaded like most I have had in the Midwest. My wife got the Taos salad with chicken she enjoyed very much! I was fortunate enough to snag a bite or two from her and it was truly excellent. My buddy shared a bite of the Osso Bucco and it was superb!! I ordered the meatloaf with goat cheese mashed potatoes, and green beans. The meatloaf also had a nice pan gravy and French onions. Truly a delight. We got a nice bottle of sparkling rosé for the table, which was delicious. The only snag of the whole evening was waiting for them to chill the wine. I'm not sure why they would offer sparkling wines and not have them chilled prior. A minor and annoyance, but not enough to deduct a star from this fabulous establishment. The prices were fair, the atmosphere was outstanding, and we will be returning many times in the future! We will ask for Chloe.

Had heard good things, but wasn't sure what to expect. The service was exceptional. We both had the salmon and it was perfect. The combinations of flavors were interesting and inventive. Lots of other things on the menu looked good. We'll definitely be back.

I had the pork flank steak! Incredibly tender and fabulous! We all enjoyed our time and our meals!

The food was good and had a mix of flavors , the only issue with mine was a bit greasy but after all I like it . The server was ok , the bus girl was excellent.

My wife and I with another couple, dined at Brown and Loe last evening. My wife ordered the chicken fried chicken special while I tried the meatloaf. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I believed our friends both had the chicken sandwiches and were pleased with them. For an appetizer, we ordered the trumpet mushrooms which were excellent. The service was great and as this was our first time there, we plan on going back soon! They had a good selection of beers on tap and by the can or bottle.

Everything was absolutely perfect, food, service ambience, Brown and Loe never disappoints.

Food was fantastic and deserves to be on a fine dining menu. The salmon dish was excellent and platted beautifully. The fried mushrooms were perfect. If you like an Old Fashion stick with a cocktail bar. You will be disappointed as it tasted like a batched drink. The ambiance is disappointing if you are looking forward to a quiet dinner and drinks. Adding sound proof panels to the ceiling and walls would make for a much more enjoyable experience within a busy restaurant. The building space is beautiful and a true gem making it perfect for a restaurant.

The food was great they only things that would have made it better was the sound level was extremely loud. Also the temperature was very very hot like the A/C wasn't working.

The food was "fine" but over-priced. The dinner special - a sirloin and grean beans, no potato, no bread, - was $28 and the steak was not very tender. My husband had the meatloaf. Again, no bread and we did not order salads. The two dinners, one glass of wine and one mixed drink , was over $80.

Loved the look of the place! It was a very unique and classy restaurant with amazing drinks. The service was great as well and everyone was nice.

Our server, who I'm sorry to say I didn't get her name, was delightful! Our food was delicious and my espresso martini was the best!

Bar drinks took longer than expected and the room was very hot/humid, but our server was sweet and attentive, and the food was pretty good.

I love this building and the food was delicious. We had to wait longer than usual for our food but it was worth the wait.
