Just kind of stumbled upon Cafe gratitude this morning. We aren’t from KC and decided to walk a bit before we headed home, we had no idea it was a vegan restaurant. We decided to try it out and were delightfully surprised. The flavors were delicious. The protein substitutes were done perfectly. We all tried some thing we wouldn’t typically order and we left very satisfied. Our server was great, she did a wonderful job of explaining things to us and really made it a great experience. The ambience is something I wish I would’ve thought of myself. I loved everything about Café gratitude. Thanks for a wonderful experience.
Love this place! They have a great menu with a variety of plant based meals. Everything is while food as well with no meat substitutes. Their menu seems to change seasonally, but is always good. Will definitely continue to go here!
The atmosphere, food, joy… it’s all incredible. Some of our favorite dishes are the hummus toast appetizer, abundant bowl (used to be a wrap), Mac n cheese, BLT. I love that they do house-made “cheeses” for their food as I dislike the processed kind. Their bakery treats are amazing - cinnamon roll, donuts, etc - but only available on weekends now. Definitely not a place to rush through a meal. Stay, savory and enjoy. There is even a cookbook that you can buy while you’re there!
Superb vegan food and atmosphere! Highly recommended!
Ordered through uber eats Thursday night no dessert truffle with order tried to request refund through the app. Obviously thinking the problem could be that the driver took it and just tried to call.. no results. Not a fan of the city or this experience.
Amazing food! I visit every time I’m town.

Cafe Gratitude has priced out their plant based locals. Prepare to spend at minimum $60 each time and not feeling full. Their menu has a hand full of dishes that tastes amazing. However, myself and many people I know no longer see exchanging business here worth it. Their portion sizes are constantly shrinking and their pricing are constantly rising. I thought I’d give them a shot again and was very disappointed. Gratitude was the furthest from how I felt. I felt extreme anxiety while ordering and realizing they’ve raised their prices yet again and knowing their portion sizes wouldn’t reflect their price increases. Among the price increases that are absurd is their price of spinach as a topping. They’re now charging $6 for about six spinach leaves as a topping for dishes with minimal nutritional value. I ordered their over priced chai shake because I liked it in the past and it tasted nothing like it did when I first tried it. It was doughy, I had to send it back. The Mac & Cheese portion size is no longer worth the price and the $15 full sized salads are sooo small and are now the same size that the $9 half sized salads used to be. This place is a complete rip off these days and isn’t worth the price gouging.
One of my favorite restaurants in KC. I always leave feeling so nourished by the delicious food and positive energy. Very grateful for what they provide!

Very poor service experience. The server told me to take my time, no rush after giving me the bill while I was eating and then in the next second she’s with the machine in my face and wanted me to pay right then while I was still eating. Also, very small portions for the price and a lady was continually shouting and screaming and calling it singing wow almost got a headache. Twist was she’s asking tips for that so called singing. The experience was not worth it for the money spent and not going back ever again. Please change the restaurant name to “Cafe No Gratitude”. Thanks and goodbye!

I found this place while I was in Kansas City and wow was I glad I did!! The friendly staff, and the cafe atmosphere were great. The food was outstanding! Some of the best vegan food I have ever had. Full of flavor! I will definitely be back next visit. If I I lived in KC I’d eat here all of the time!

I've been going to Cafe gratitude since this location opened and frequented their original location in San Francisco. I've even spent Christmas with the owners, and dated employees. This used to be a great restaurant. But there are too many flaws, from landmark to alienating employees.
This location seems to have completely forgotten the concept of gratitude. I went in to try to buy a community bowl and a few other items. I've been doing that for close to 20 years. It's the only way I can afford a whole meal, paying slightly less for the grateful bowl and then full price for everything else.
They wouldn't let me buy tea (elixir?), they wouldn't let me buy any other food, no other items on the menu, you can only buy the bowl and then leave. It was severely disappointing. What kind of a policy is that? Shame.

I have heard such wonderful things about Café Gratitude, so I was super excited when I was invited to a women's networking lunch there today. My lunch was amazing, and everything the other diners ordered looked and smelled incredible also. Our server, Violet, was on top of everything! Thank you for a great lunch and space to meet some incredible women! I will definitely be back!
