First off, the food was amazing! Three of us shared the Whomp! Platter and we had quite a bit left over. Literally the best burnt ends we have ever had. Our server was new, but she acknowledged that early and let us know it was her first day. She was willing to learn if she didn’t know something. The atmosphere was fun. It was a little chilly outside but I could see the outdoor patio being packed in great weather. Overall it was great and we would definitely go back.

Great local BBQ spot. Always good beers on tap, good cocktails, neat outdoor area in the summer with lawn games. A bit on the pricier side for BBQ (think Jack stack) but never had anything here I didn't like. Their sides and starters are particularly good. This place can get really busy on the weekend, so reservations are recommended. Servers are always friendly.

Char bar is INSANE. I came here with my volleyball team, a group of 12 and the staff took GREAT care of us. Joey was amazing and was so attentive, accurate and sweet. We all enjoyed our food, I recommend the Brisket Cheesesteak, Mac n cheese and fries. Come here if you’re in the KC burbs!

Our waiter was excellent and very helpful when it came to choosing our food. I had the nuggets as an appetizer which was crispy n had great sauces that came with it. I also tried the burger which was probably one of the best burgers I have had in a long time! Juicy and full of flavor. Definitely going back
Food was great. We were a 5 top that all ordered different brown bags. Beans were great when I added some of the spicy sauce. All of our meats were smoked to perfection. Our server didn't seem interested and brought the wrong drinks but he changed at the end when he got a fat tip anyway cause hey, we're not cheap. Maybe he can use it to get a better dye job on his head idk. Will probably try the Parkville location in the future.

I took my mother and two granddaughters there Sunday afternoon after the brunch rush thinking it would be a great place for them to play in the outside area. After sitting at our table for fifteen minutes without acknowledgement from our server, I went to the bartender working outside and asked for some waters for the kids. He very condescendingly says, "If you're at a table someone will wait in you." I'm not your husband." We left immediately.I hadn't been to the the Char Bar in a few years and have never had such horrible service. We will definitely not be going back.
