Our favorite Mexican restaurant in KC. Check out their rooftop patio in the summer, and get the shrimp tacos. You will not be disappointed! Margaritas are excellent too, not too sweet and I confirmed no simple syrup or agave syrup is used in their standard margs. So good!
The best Mexican food I've had in Kansas City. I've been trying tamales everywhere since I moved here and they either have no seasoning or barely any meat, not at El Patron they were delicious. Everything thing me and baby ordered tasted excellent. The service was great, small place with great energy and great food.
El Patron was just okay. The food was pretty average—nothing special, honestly. The vibe felt a bit awkward, like something was missing, and the service wasn’t great, either. They did get the drinks right, though; those were actually good! But overall, it wasn’t the best experience. It’s fine for a casual hangout and drinks not for some special occasion.
