Whether I am on a dinner date with my wife or hosting a business dinner for a large party in one of their private rooms, Farina is one of the most, if not the most, accommodating fine dining venues in KC. Its modern Italian menu is unparalleled and showcases many types of meticulously prepared, hand-made pastas. Their gnocchi di patate should never be taken off the menu! Their main courses all deserve special consideration. I had the scallops. They were seared to perfection with a thin caramelized crust giving way to an impossibly tender center. This was complimented with a delicate tomato sauce and a cucumber relish that added just the right amount of acidity and crunch to complete the entree. For sides, I highly recommend the chanterelles and broccolini. This is a meal I will be thinking about until the next time I come back!

Excellent service, we had a super warm friendly and knowledgeable server its such a shame we couldn't remember her name! Went in without reservations and they sat us at the oyster bar (which is full menu service) we got to sit and watch KC flow by as the sun set. The chef at the oyster bar had his picture on the wall of Julia child and himself cooking together. We spoke and he was very friendly and told us more about the oysters we had. We recommend the highwater oysters from Hog Island. They were exceptional and the chef's personal favorite as well. We had the burrata with caviar, Hokkaido scallops and the carbonara. To finish it off we enjoyed the affogato, a union of bitter and sweet that plays out like music on your tastebuds. Lastly, we enjoyed the tiramisu which had a floral note coming from the orange zest and liquor inside, delicious. Highly recommend. The quality of the food is reflected in the prices and the portions were perfectly sized to enjoy a full course meal there. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Didn’t live up to expectations. My carbonara was pretty much a soup. Way too much sauce. Venue is more casual than I expected as it’s incredibly loud. I could hear my neighbors next to me more than I could my date across from me. Chef came out and made a few rounds which was nice.

Had the Veal and oyster mushrooms the Italian salad duck meatballs black squid ink pasta tiramisu and basil, Hayden with coffee. And absolutely perfect evening. Our server was amazing. To start this- we love this restaurant, the food is always good and we’ve been here several times. Our server was the worst we’ve ever had here. He didn’t introduce himself to us until ten minutes after we were seated and then told us that the restaurant “screwed him over” and didn’t know he was taking a 7 top when his section was full and he was already slammed. We’ve had this reservation for two weeks and had friends visiting from out of town for her birthday. The lack of professionalism was extremely disappointing. We told him at the beginning of the night we’d be doing separate checks, and we’ve been before with large groups and separate checks had never been a problem. At the end of our meal he slapped one check on the table, and when we told him we had expected separate checks he brought the menu to the table and pointed where it said they don’t split checks for parties of 6 or more. We were surprised because Farina has done that for us several times up until then. It was the worst service we have ever received there.
-our servers name was Ryan

Have been coming here since day one but unfortunately the food is slacking a bit at this point.
Dishes are extremely greasy and the oil and butter kill the taste of not so cheap ingredients like chanterelle mushrooms or, even worse, truffle.
The Boss was there that night so I hope he noticed!!!!!

Second meal there was even more amazing than our first meal, which was amazing. There are so many great restaurants in Kansas City, but we are already excited to go back to Farina again.

Had an amazing time at Farina from the jump. The whole vibe is super modern, and the service is next level. Shoutout to Sarah, who was our server—she took care of us like no other. So attentive, making sure we were all set the entire night. She’d clear plates as we went, brought fresh ones, and was super detailed in explaining every dish and cocktail. As for the food? Unreal. We tried the potato gnocchi, the Lemon Creste Di Gallo (which was hands down my favorite), the cheese-filled caramelle, Parmesan clam toast, and duck meatballs. Every single one was a hit. Can’t wait to go back.

We were seated on a fairly busy, thorough fair, which distracted from the atmosphere. The food was good but small portions for the price.

Made a reservation for a large group and reserved the back room. Felt very intimate and was enjoyed by all. Food was amazing and worth the wait. Wait staff wasn’t overly attentive and didn’t check in as often as they should.

Absolutely delicious Italian dining at the oyster bar. Had the octopus which brought me back to Spain. The TAGLIATELLE BOLOGNESE BEEF AND PORK RAGU, TOMATO, GRANA PADANO and
BUCATINI CARBONARA were both plentiful and delicious. The tiramisu was the star of the show!! Such a decedent indulgence!! Greet dining experience!
