Finest food, welcoming staff members, constantly fantastic mood. They charge fair rates and the food quality is fantastic. Great work.

Best food! Super fun atmosphere! I’ve been coming here since I was a baby. The bartender is so nice and he has been there for as long as my dad has been coming here...and my dads been coming there since he was a kid too. So we kinda sorta know the place. Best ever, so much fun! Delicious soup to get your belly warm, best steak around here, and beautiful fountains to look at in the restaurant. This place should be an icon in Kansas City; it doesn’t get enough credit. Seriously, don’t listen to the bad reviews. This place has is the best. My favorite!!!!

I was so disappointed. My fiance and I went there with friends because of the great reviews. Well for starters the food had no seasoning on anything. It tasted blan. The white rice they gave us was so dry and had very little flavor. When I think of hibachi I think of fried rice. They didn't have that. The yellow sauce they gave us was pretty gross. The service wasn't great. I told them that I wanted the just the hibachi steak. The one without shrimp. I literally told them this 4 times because for some reason they weren't understanding even though it was literally on the menu. They still gave me steak and shrimp even though I didn't want the shrimp. Everyone in my group hated it there. We definitely will not be going back.

If you're looking for affordable and delicious hibachi, you've landed on the perfect place! The portions are plenty and I always end up with leftovers. Not only is the food awesome, the inside of this place is extremely unique! You'll understand what I'm talking about as soon as you enter the first set of doors. The staff is fun and friendly too. However, they are pretty busy and sometimes it takes a few weeks just to get a reservation (which is needed) so make sure you call ahead of time for this gem of Kansas City.

We have been coming to Gojos for years like 25+. Now I think last Saturday will be my last. Left very unhappy. Shitty food, shitty chef whom rushed they entire dinner. The food was not tasty at all. Very bland. The yellow and green sauces are not the same. Final was the waiter poured water into cups and touched the water in each cup..... the virus... how many people's germs did I get and he got. Take your money elsewhere. I won't be back.

Had dinner with family tonight. Haven't been here in a few years. Still the same. I had Jack Daniels and coke. Bartender did well. Within minutes of sitting down, the young lady came by to take orders. I, along with others, felt rushed to order. I quickly went with chicken and shrimp. Spicy. Our chef was great. Unfortunately, I can't remember his name. My food wasn't spicy but was delicious.

This used to be my favorite restaurant to go to with my family. Been coming here for 15+ years. Food was always fantastic, although the service always felt a little rushed and you often needed a reservation in advance. In the end, it was always worth it though. In the last couple years they changed their yellow sauce. I have NO IDEA why. The new sauce is runny and tasteless. The YELLOW SAUCE was the best in town, and now it's just ...eh. Total bummer.

I had food poisoning. The building isn't maintained, there are empty fountains and broken walls all over the place. The tables are sticky and the fume hoods don't turn in which just makes the problem worse. The wait staff is off-putting, one of them was hitting on my sister. It was uncomfortable.

Decent place to go if you're not looking to spend a fortune on a Japanese steak house. It's not as interactive and fun as other similar places that I've been. You do get a ton of food, and they'll let you box up your leftovers which make for a nice additional meal. I didn't love any of the meats (steak and chicken) or shrimp that I tried, but I did enjoy the yellow sauce on my rice and dipped pretty much everything in that. Drink prices are very reasonable. One thing to note is the last 2 times we've went, the person working the check in stand has told us it would be an hour plus wait and clearly didn't want us to wait. We have gone into the bar area, gotten a drink, and been seated within 15 minutes each time. It was almost like they didn't want our business which was weird.

me and my extended family have been going there for every person's birthday, special occasion, and holiday for 25 years. They have changed the yellow recipe, and other food items in the last year. Gojo's went from the best tasting and best value Japanese restaurant in KC, to one of the worst, in less than a year and a half. Won't go back
