Please be careful when eating the salad. I accidentally bit down on an olive I didn’t notice when eating the salad and the olive pit actually cracked my previously healthy molar tooth. It couldn’t be saved and I just had to have it surgically removed! Very painful and unpleasant experience and the quote for an implant was around $8000!!! I might just have to live with the gap although this may cause further complications down the road with the surrounding teeth. It’s been a nightmare situation for me personally so I want to put out this notice to please be careful!

My husband and I were in the River Market area since I was attending a writer's conference nearby, and needed some lunch. The power and light district is pretty pricey for just a simple lunch, especially when you may not want junk food. So, after already having eaten nearby at the Opera House for breakfast, we wanted to try a new place in the river market area, and found this charming Middle Eastern place. We both knew we wanted to try their gyros, and we both did and tried the hummus on the side. The gyros were excellent, can't say anything else, but be prepared to have plenty of napkins. The hummus was good too, but not the best. I've had some that had more seasoning. The service here is good, and a nice bonus was that they provided fresh hot mint tea that was tasty.

I love this place. Best hummus in the city

Amazing food in a small, no-frills space. The hummus and baba ghanoush were both excellent, as were the gyro and shawarma.Parking: Parking in river market area can be a nightmare during peak times.

The food is amazing, and the people even moreso. I feel at home every time I come in. If you haven't visited Habashi House, you're missing out.

Yes, I know there are plenty of great places to eat at City Market, but when I say Habashi House has the best hummus I have ever had, believe it. I am usually my happiest as a foodie when I happen upon a place that is small, fast, and has a lot of passion for the food they make. Everything we ate here was some of the best I have had. The hummus is a must for sure though and you can buy it to go! This is another place where I will return everytime I make back to KC! Enjoy!

We’ve been coming here for years. Always super friendly, and the food is some of the best Middle Eastern cuisine in the KC metro. Nice location too, with plenty of other places to explore in the near vicinity.

An excellent spot for lunch, whether you're exploring the City Market or simply craving a delightful meal. While we've purchased pita from the market before, this marks our first dining experience at this hidden gem. I chose the Gyro salad, and it surpassed expectations, accompanied by two pieces of pita bread. The portion left me thoroughly satisfied. The interior exudes a charming deli ambiance, offering ample table/booth combo seating. Ordering is a breeze at the counter, and the prompt 3-5 minute wait, indicative of freshly made dishes, added to the overall positive experience. Without a doubt, we'll be returning!

Very fast service, especially if you go on during the week. Paid about 12 bucks for a gryo sandwich with a side and they offer free mint tea for customers. Beautiful atmosphere full of middle eastern art.

I've been coming to this restaurant for 17 years and love the food and service. Absolutely no complaints. I tried a new entrée today and was frustrated by the portion size. Not sure if it's the restaurant or bidenomics, but I'll be back and highly recommend!!

Very pleasant atmosphere and friendly quick service. Food was delicious and the tea was good, & I'm not normally a tea drinker. We will definitely be back!

I ordered the lamb/beef combo. The salad tasted like it was dressed four days ago and sat in a fridge and then was served. The lamb shavings were room temperature. i received a small portion of the parsley salad. I am suprised I don't feel ill yet. the lamb shavings leave a putrid aftertaste. and no time to warm up the pita bread? what a complete waste of money for a gross meal.
