The food is really good. But the service is bad. We have to wait for to long and we have to wait for the waitressThe waitress had a rude attitude and wasn't very helpful. We felt discriminated

Service and restaurant were above exceptional. It's very difficult to find parking where the restaurant is situated. I was not too impressed with the savory portion of my food, though. To me, it lacked flavor especially for the eggs over medium and turkey sausage. Avocado toast wasn't too bad. The mixed fruit was definitely on point.
Overall, the the staff were very nice and welcoming.

First time here, the vibe was fantastic. Our server Aubry gave us recommendations and was very good. Food was hot and delicious. Highly recommended.

Shout out to our server Toffee — she took great care of us with kindness and a smile. Even though the place was busy and we waited a bit for service, she stayed attentive and super friendly. At the end, she surprised us with a pop-tart treat on the house for being patient — such a thoughtful touch! Highly recommend HomeGrown Brookside and Toffee’s service. 🙌

Love this place!! Nice neighboring shops to look in if you arrive before your table is ready (join the wait-list before heading out) or walk the shops after. 10/10 all around!!

Overall the food was very good. We had biscuits and gravy, which is not your typical gravy it has a Cajun spin on it but good and the same gravy is in the bowl. My son had chicken strips and said they tested better then any other chicken strips he's ever had definitely will return.

There's often a short wait for a table here whenever I come. The wait is always worth it. The name pretty much sums up what you can expect here. Good, friendly service and hearty home style food. The rosemary potatoes are perfect, the omelets and scrambles are great, and they always have some seasonal dishes so there's always something to try if you don't want the old stand-by (john's denver omelet for me).

Cozy place with delicious food
Good drinks but not so good food. Spent $80 plus for brunch for 2 and 3 drinks. Service was great but wish that food was good.

While in KC, we were looking for a breakfast place and came across HomeGrown. We were able to get with a short wait and were impressed with the layout and atmosphere of the place. Service was excellent and the menu was broad, covering light and healthy options along with traditional breakfast choices. It was apparent that this place is a favorite with locals. Highly recommend.

Not enough room, if you are disabled and need assistance with equipment like a walker or wheelchair.
