I used to love this place so much. Always a great time. But the last few times we've been in, we've been served by someone named Laura who clearly has a chip on her shoulder. I just can't have fun when someone is walking around with RBF and acting like we don't matter. And it wasn't just us. We could tell that other people were displeased. We even talked to a couple other tables about it. One time she was at the bar (we were trying to avoid her!) and it was just as bad if not worse. We've mostly always had great service outside of this one person bringing our night down. Probably won't be back for a while, and when we do it will just be to pop and and make sure she's gone. And if I never see her face again, I'm back to loving HATM!

If you ever find yourself in Kansas City and want a night packed with music, energy, and pure fun—Howl at the Moon is the place! 🎹🎸🥁

I stopped in on a Wednesday night (yes, Wednesday), and the place was absolutely buzzing! Turns out, a few conferences were in town—including ours—and this spot was clearly the crowd favorite. The performers? Unreal. Five insanely talented musicians trading off between keyboards, guitars, bass, drums, and vocals like a well-oiled rock-and-roll machine. Every song was a crowd-pleaser, and the audience was all in from start to finish.

Even with the place packed, the bar staff didn’t miss a beat—fast, friendly, and flawless under pressure. I brought about 25 people from our BRMConnect conference, and everyone was blown away. Between the music, the dancing, and the non-stop good vibes, it was hands-down one of the highlights of our trip.

Huge shout-out to the Howl at the Moon crew—musicians and staff alike—for making a Wednesday night feel like a Saturday party. Can’t wait to come back next time I’m in town! 🎶🔥

Friendly team and great customer care.

We went down for our daughter’s 21st Birthday and had an amazing night!! Our waitress was top notch as was the rest of the workers! Musicians were fantastic!!! Thanks Howl at the Moon for making her 21st very special!!! We’ll be back soon!!

Did my wife’s birthday party here and she was very happy. The artist rocked it all night

This place rocks, literally! We're locals and this is hands down my favorite club to dance at, so it was the obvious choice for our wedding after party. I would totally recommend for anyone looking for a fun space to let loose after their wedding! There were lots of fun perks to booking an after party rather than just showing up, including stage call ups and free entry to everyone in our party! The staff worked really hard to make us feel special. It was the perfect end to our wedding day, everyone had so much fun. My out of town friends and family kept complimenting me on the choice of club, and saying how they wished they had a howl in their city.

The band is great however the mix on the pa was really off on certain songs. I don't see an engineer running sound, maybe fix that

Never been kicked out of a place for having a drink spilled on me the door guys/bouncers suck at this place very aggressive for no reason we weren't belligerent or even causing a scene and they asked us to leave because of a misunderstanding thats BS... would never go back to this place.

A good time was had by all. We had a private event. Incredibly talented artists. Some snacky snack finger food--yummo! I was a DD, so I didn't get to imbibe, but many colleagues were having a great time!!

Entertainers were off the charts terrific! Engaging, receptive, energetic, and into their craft. Our server, Jennifer, was top notch. She was handling a huge party and made plenty of time for our small party of two. People watching was fantastic. One old man ran around all night with both hands over his head while another lady danced for 3 consecutive hours. The shot lady walking around with a baseball bat while wearing a scream mask was a little off putting, but I'm sure she has a target demographic. Pleasant experience and will be back.

We had a spur of the moment birthday party here and had a great time! We really enjoyed the pianos and interaction with the crowd. Also loved dancing once the party got going! IYKWIM

We had a great time. The musicians were great. This was less of a dueling piano bar kind of vibe and more like a collective of very skilled multi - instrument playing singers. It was fun. My knock, which is a big one, is they were serving blended scotch from the Makers Mark bottle. I'm sure all the people in their twenties have no idea, but a 40 year old whisky drinker absolutely can immediately tell the difference between Makers Mark and Costco Johnny Red. And she poured it right from the Makers bottle in front of me. So if they're pulling a bold move like that with whisky, you gotta assume the Titos and other spirits are all re-bottled Costco liquor. So I would highly recommend going here for the music. Just drink from cans or only order well spirits as I wouldn't trust I was getting what I paid for.
