Atmosphere top notch, our server Ciara was incredible, and the food was the best part!! Wife isn't a huge fan of BBQ but she was raving about it. We purchased some sauce to take home with us too! Highly recommend, your belly and your wallet will thank you.

I felt this restaurant runs on atmosphere and not food which isn't good. No reservation, restaurant wasn't busy. We were told 30 minute wait and we chose to sit in bar at a table and order. Our waiter came for drink orders and those came pretty quick. Then he went dark. We finally flagged him down and ordered. Two orders came incomplete. Didn't see our waiter and asked another one for the two missing sides. Those didn't come out. Our waiter came with receipts and we asked for the two sides. One came out quickly and the second came out as we were getting ready to leave. Walking out we noticed the same tables that were empty when we walked in were still empty. Looks like restaurant is minimally staffed with wait staff and they push you into the bar area to irder

This is Kansas City's gem. I take all of my out of town friends here because everyone absolutely loves it. My family gets Jack Stack food catered for almost every family event at this point too. This is also my boyfriend and I's favorite place to go for date night. I would describe Jack Stack as more of a high end barbeque joint. My absolute favorite dish is the pulled pork mac and cheese. However, I have literally never had a bad thing from this place!
Wow! This place was so cool! The atmosphere was awesome, and the service was great!Definitely the best BBQ I've had in KC! The burnt ends were delicious, the onion rings were incredible, and the carrot cake was probably the best I've ever had!I definitely recommend you check this place out. I loved it so much I bought a hat.

Good solid middle. There wasn’t anything explicitly bad about this place, and I came very hungry to try several foods. The jalapeño corn bread was good but just a little bit too fatty, combined with butter on the side it felt too much. The burned ends ( I asked for lean ) still had some fat in it. Not much, I’m just quite sensitive to tasting the fat. Husbands Mac and cheese with brisket substituted for pork was also average ( not bad by any means, just average ). And carrot cake for desert had a very sweet topping, but that’s what many Americans would like. The issue for me was the strong taste of baking powder in the dough just showing poor baking skills. It was fresh though! Conclusion - the food is definitely better than in places like Arthur Bryant’s or Slaps for my taste, but not original or special in any way.

Shout out to Antoine who provided a pleasant experience and balanced his tables very skillfully. The food is also a great representation of why Kansas City is known for its barbeque
Jack Stack is the real deal. The food was delicious! Definitely one of my favorites. The customer service was on point as well. Keep up the good work. No pictures to add as we devoured the food. I ordered the 3 meat combo, and a cupcake.
Great BBQ! The ribs were my favorite. But the carrot cake--ohmygoodness! It arrived warm and steamy and gooey, and it was just perfection!

Not impressed. In fact disappointed. Got combo turkey and brisket. Tiny portions. Turkey seemed like it was canned. Brisket ok. Sauce ok. Fries meh. Coleslaw meh.

Jack Stack is a known staple in Kansas City but it mainly attracts the out of town tourist crowd. The food is good and the service is friendly. The tables at the Freight House location are large, so it makes for a pleasent experience. I highly recommend the CREAMY COLESLAW and the HICKORY PIT BEANS. The Baby Back Ribs are also a popular favorite.
