Jack Stack Barbecue - Freight House

Overall, a great experience! We brought a client for lunch and had originally reserved indoor seating, but decided to sit outdoors when we arrived — and we were accommodated with no issues. Our waitress was fantastic, consistently checking in to make sure everything was perfect, keeping our glasses filled, and delivering excellent service. The food was delicious and the entire experience was seamless. Great job!

Sooo good! It's the only place in KC that has BBQ lamb, which I love! Great service, as usual. Pretty loud, but that's how it normally is. If you have mobility issues, specially request NOT A BOOTH, as you have to step up to get to it.

Love this restaurant and their food at all locations, but the Freight House is special before a Kauffman Center performance! Keep up the great work! xoxo

Had guests in from The Netherlands and wanted to take them to the best BBQ in KC. Jack Stack is it! You now have fans international that want more!

The bartender didn't pay any attention to us and was just in a hurry to get off. The service at the table was slow but they were busy.

Jack Stack is one of my favorite go-to BBQ restaurants in Kansas City. I brought a friend of mine to try out some KC BBQ, and he loved Jack Stack. The food was delicious as always and the service was top notch.

Our server was exceptional, very perceptive and helpful. He had a great personality, too. We sat out on the patio. It was wonderful. Inside is beautiful but too noisy for my aging ears. Love, love, love Jack Stacks.

Party of 8 and sat in a half circle booth so getting in/out was hard and there wasn't enough room to be truly comfortable. Wait staff is wonderful. I had “burnt ends” which half of them were so (extra) burnt I couldn't eat (very tough like rawhide) so I feel like the value for the cost wasn't met. I believe everyone else had a quality meal. We finished with “carrot cake” which is amazing. I would go again with the forethought to ask for a table/chairs and not to order the burnt ends.

Food was good... environment Loud, but that's the kind of place it is. Had multiple servers which hurt continuity as communication between them seemed to be zero, thus had to continually ask same question (for an ordered dish, condiments, additional beer) multiple times.

Food and service were excellent. Haven't been in many years and it was terrific! The burnt ends and sides didnt disappoint!

We were visinting from Oklahoma and were told to try KC BBQ.
Our appetizer was the cornbread and when it came out it was greasy. We got the pit boss meal to share between the 3 of us, however the meats were extremely bland, and some were incredibly dry. The sides were sub par. Our waiter was great, the atmosphere was... interesting.

Im not sure if we just ordered the wrong thing, but I have no idea how this place is rated so highly.

Myself and my company won't be coming back...

Food was lacking. We went in expecting good BBQ and ended up with below average food. Got the KC Combo with Beef ribs, Burnt ends and the Bone In Chicken. The Chicken was cooked but came out stone cold. The Beef ribs were dry and there was not much meet in the bones at all. The Burnt Ends were so dry they bordered on beef jerky. The flavor was ok but left way too much to be desired. Another party member got the brisket and the Turkey. The Brisket was ok, but was under seasoned and the Turkey had the Taste and Texture of Deli Meat. Sitting outside the atmosphere was cool. After being highly recommended by a few locals I would hard pass this restaurant.
