Jasper’s has amazing Italian food, a great atmosphere, and friendly service. The desserts are definitely worth trying, and the whole experience feels special.

It’s been a long time since I visited Jasper (though I go to Marco polos every other week) I can’t believe dinner tonight. Complete and total miss across the board. With the exception of the soup and salad it was horrible. We went to celebrate my daughter and girlfriend’s birthday and I told the hostess this as well. She said she would tell the server (because I wanted to surprise them with desserts)
We ordered the ricotta and meatballs (undercooked meatballs)
I had the San Remo (pasta was not al dente, hell I had to chew to get through) my daughter had cacio e Pepe which sat under a heat lap so long the crema congealed, my girlfriend had the chicken parm, and the chicken had 0 crunch, and less flavor. Then the time came for dessert, nope server didn’t have a clue, I reordered what I ordered for surprise, it was dropped off after 18 minutes of waiting and she left.
No happy birthday comment, no thanks for coming.
As a first generation Italian American who has only been in KC for 11 years I understand my palate is different, but this was a mess. Total birthday failure :(
Update: This is a message I received on Christmas Eve… both this account and his personal account have blocked me. Speaks volumes.

I can't say enough about this place! Our salesmen George@ Chevy dealer recommended it. Marco Polo is connected to Jasper's.Marco Polo side is simple menu, table&chairs, order from the counter. The Jasper side is a nicer dining area if you want to dress, have drinks,be waited on with an extended menu.I can never seem to find a good spaghetti w/meat sauce I thought I would try this place.I saw a guy walk in from the Jasper side with a clean white shirt and go straight to the stove and start stirring, tasting &cooking over an open flame. Got my attention&found out from counter person he was indeed Jasper. He walked by to go back to the Jasper side and introduced himself. After telling him why I visited he said,Try the food and let me know how you like it.Ordered the spaghetti w/meat sauce & side of two meat balls w/marinara sauce. My son had the Italian steak&we shared the Marco Polo sandwich so we could try 3 entrees. The sandwich was perfectly made.A little bit of crisp on the bread none of the meat was salty-it was DELICIOUS! My spaghetti with meat sauce was the best maybe ever that I have tasted in my life!!!The meatballs were so moist, flavorful&the perfect temperature with the sauce.Kastly,my son's Italian steak was seasoned perfectly and each bite was delicious with the mozzarella over the top&the pasta on the side.Jasper came by&asked how was the food.I couldn't express how delicious everything was,but I think my facial expressions explained a lot to him because he said I made his day. He treated me like I was part of his family. he has such a warm heart.I not only felt comfortable around him but the whole experience was one of the better days that I've had in my 65 years on this Earth meeting somebody for the first time.If I ever come anywhere close to Kansas City I would dare not ever try any other restaurant&come by here just to specifically try different things on the menu.I can't say enough of this place&it was only my first time here but I think if you come here you'll agree.God Bless you and your business Jasper....it was a pleasure meeting you.

Won’t accommodate splitting the bill with larger groups, server and bartender had not heard of a chocolate martini, and $14 for a plate of mushrooms with only five escargot is a bit steep! If you don’t know how to make a chocolate martini, you can at least Google it. Winging it did not turn out well.

Elliot was great, he was very attentive to our table and very friendly. The food was delicious especially the dessert 😋, I had the tiramisu. I would suggest maybe cooking the pork chop just a little less since it is a very lean cut it was a bit dry but the flavor was good.
