Typical steak house with great food. I get a hot tenderloin plate. Always good. Only available for lunch I am told.

We had my husband's birthday party here. The staff was amazing and the steaks and chicken were delicious. I highly recommend the twice baked potato! Also the sampler appetizer was a hit. We ordered 2 for a table of 11 and everybody got a taste. The onion rings were the bomb. Then the staff brought out a cake I had brought with the candles, serving utensils, plates and forks on a trolly for us. It has a nice old fashion country decor and sits right near the rail road tracks. The trains going by just added to the ambiance. It was definitely worth the drive from Smithville!

Such a lovely evening to be able to try the yummy steaks at this popular restaurant with family. Glad we made reservation and it was full of people when we got there. I ordered the ribeye that came with salad and big twice baked potato. I am usually not a big fan of baked potato but the one I had was the best one I had for a very long time( just forget about the calories!🤣). Everyone was happy with the food and really enjoyed at the restaurant. The price is not insanely high like some restaurants that also serve same type of food within 30 miles.

This was my first time visiting. The food was good. I really liked the egg rolls. The salad was a little wilted. The ranch, which I thought was housemade, tastes like kraft. The only food I got that was hot was the steak. So I do not see myself going back. The waitress rushed to get us our check. And we had split the bill at our table, and she dropped the checks at our table and darted off. Then, when she brought it back, it dropped and ran. No, thank you for visiting. Have a nice evening, nothing. So rude!!! I feel more welcome at other Steakhouses. And I have had better food. So disappointed.

I've never been to Jess and Jims, I just looked up directions, and well, here we are. My coworker loves this place though and you probably will too. I hear good things.
Ms. Debbie went above and beyond to accommodate our group, allowing us to dine in the lounge so our daughter could enjoy the music. The food, particularly the Prime Burger, was outstanding. Highly recommend for great food, outstanding staff, and awesome atmosphere!

This was very difficult to review. My husband and I went for date night and to celebrate an occasion. Neither of us had ever been there before. The service was absolutely AMAZING!!! Best we had ever experienced. Our waitress was on point. My drink was never empty. She was very kind and accommodating. The atmosphere was great, I love that there are little walls (similar to horse stables) that separate you from other tables. Adds a little sound barrier that drowns out other people's conversations which is great for a nice dinner out. Now for the food. Honestly, we were not impressed. The portions were big and great which was the best part. However, we got the steak and it came out raw when we ordered medium, they took it back and cooked it longer which it was then correct. BUT you have to special request to have any seasoning put on your steak which I think is a little strange. We requested seasoning and I couldn't tell. It was very, very bland. Which was disappointing for a 16oz steak that is $35. I was hoping for better flavor. We had a huge baked potato which was good but we had to pay extra for a second side. I like steak, potatoes, and a veggie personally. So we ordered the green beans. They tasted, very heavily, like FISH. They were not good. I took two bites and could not eat more. My husband likes fish but did not like the green beans. He also took two bites and didn't finish. So, great atmosphere and service is wonderful but the food needed more seasoning and avoid the same surfaces as fish, unless that taste is intentional, in which case, they should warn you of that on the menu somehow. No one bites into a green bean and expects a fishy vinegar flavor. We haven't decided if we will return or not because its hard to want to try other entrees if we don't like the side dish. Compliments to the waitress we had though, she was phenomenal! Give it try and see what you think!!
Parking: Parking is in front of the entrance on the street or parking lot a block down to the side and behind of the restaurant.
Kid-friendliness: Kid menu. Most kids could there pretty easily, I think.
Wheelchair accessibility: First floor. No stairs to get to restaurant or seating.

Annual Christmas dinner for my family of four was great! Steaks all around. I got the prime rib which was a little disappointing. Was tough but flavorful. Dont the think the quality was good enough to have the word prime in it. I was only able to eat about 40% of it. Would not recommend. Would get the ribeye next time.

I know I shouldn't order chicken at a steakhouse, but I did. the grilled chicken breast was small and a little on the rubbery side. disappointing. their loaded twice baked potato was very. good. 1 ordered Italian salad dressing, and it tasted like wishbone Italian dressing.
