Spectacular service from the host to the wait staff. Great food with good portions. Will definitely go back!
Party of five- all cocktails were poorly done- someone needs to talk with the bartender. So we ended up ordering wine by the bottle instead. Interior needs updating for a cleaner less claustrophobic feel. Food was good though except for a forgotten lobster tail. Slow start to service. Fix these issues because we have always loved JJs from long ago.
very slow service waiter was stressed as he had to many tames food was good but took for ever to get meal
It was a wonderful evening. We don't go out much, especially places as nice as JJ‘s, but everyone was so warm and friendly, especially our waiter MATTHEW, we felt at ease right away. It made our anniversary so special, I think we'll go back again next year!
Unfortunately this was a very bad experience at JJ's. The server did his best but his second day. Our calamari was overcooked twice! Fish came out overcooked as well and dried out. Our filets were fantastic. Ragu was underwhelming. When the bill came, they didn't even bother to comp the calamari...shame on them. With all our cocktails and a bottle of wine, you'd think common courtesy is to take that off the bill. 🤦🏽♀️
Excellent service, excellent meal... from everyone in our party. Salads, steaks, everything! The dining room is comfortable and quiet... we really loved it.
The evening was magical! Great food, great wine list and amazing staff. Everyone is so professional and kind! Our favorite go to restaurant in Kansas City
Our server was extremely nice and gave us great recommendations. Will definitely be back!!
We celebrated a significant birthday with a group of friends. Everything was great. The staff greeted us quickly and acknowledged the birthday! We'll definitely go back again
Food was just ok, service was good (waiter forgot to bring our bottle of wine and he didn't come back until we were halfway through our meal...this is the reason for good and not excellent), but the cocktails were EXCELLENT and prepared perfectly. Had a nice chat with the bartender on the way out, and I'd go back for a cocktail/snack in the bar. With so many options in KC, it's unfortunate JJ's didn't bring their A-game. It's been ages since we've been there, and I was expecting much more based upon past visits.

I have enjoyed eating at JJs for over 35 years. Food and service are always excellent. Paco's shrimp remains my favorite appetizer. Various cuts of meat are done to perfection. Can't go wrong with other entrees or the French onion soup. Extensive wine list (including by the glass) and staff is always available to assist.
Rick is an excellent waiter. He was great. Our son was celebrating his engagement and offered some Rose wine and some free desserts!
Our meals were good but menu was limited. The appetizer sizes were REALLY small. Dessert choices were also limited and not great. I was really hoping for chocolate chip cookies but they had random seasonal ones that weren't appealing. Chicken Marsala was really good. Lobster crab purses were delicious. Baked Brie was ok. We have had a lot better. Cocktail menu also felt limited.
JJ's offers consistently fine food and service. We look forward to more memorable meals at JJ's.
Typically always have an amazing meal... but not this time. The filet and potatoes lacked flavor, the steak actually tasted old. Great service and the lemon cake never disappoints
