This place was packed but we were able to find a table. It took a sec to get our server to return to our table after dropping off our drinks but once we ordered the food came out so fast! We ordered the wrap, burnt ends, and wings which were not crispy but juicy and flavorful! and the skillet cookies. Everything was delicious! We will definitely be back!

Charged $10 for a 12oz Guinness that was charged with CO2 and not Nitrogen and $13 for a 1 ounce pour of whiskey served in a plastic cup.What is this Amateur hour?

Do not eat here if you are paying with card. They do not push your original tab through. They will charge your card twice and return half. No one told me this when I started a tab. It was extremely busy so I assumed it was a mistake that she put two holds on my card for the tab. I called back the next day when the money still had not been return to be met by an extremely rude manager. She told me on the phone the policy was to place a hold for your tab and instead of pushing that hold through to place another hold on your card for the same amount and push that hold through not the first one. They will then return the original tab in a few days. So if your tab is $25 you will be out $50 until the other $25 is returned in a few days. If this really is the policy it needs to be told to guests up front. There should also be a sign. I have been to tons of other Johnny’s and this has never happened. Any other Johnny’s I have been too pushes the original hold through instead of placing another hold.

Order came out wrong, asked for it to get fixed and they never brought out my sides after telling me they would. Waited over an hour for drinks, never got them. Got told I ordered my order wrong. Our waitress stood at another table and talked to people for 10 minutes. Asked for check and waitress came back 10 minutes later asking if we wanted a receipt.

Was in KC visiting from Texas for a birthday and stopped in here to grab a bite after checking out area. It took about ten minutes before we were ever acknowledged, the bartender then very flippantly handed us menus and then once we ordered, she brought the food to us and never checked on us again. She spent the majority of her time sharing chicken strips and laughing with some guys that were sitting a few seats down from us. We had to flag her down to even pay and her disposition indicated to us that we’d clearly interrupted her social time and she wasn’t happy about it. Literally every other place we visited in KC was wonderful with this place being the exception.
A little busy as it was a weekend and playoff game as well. I had burger and replaced the patty with fried chicken. It was very tasty. My husband had the pizza and said it was tasteless. Prices were ok but we sat at the bar and it was meh. We are very generous tippers and both have backgrounds in the industry - maybe lack of training or motivation, we just didn't feel like the service was the quality that it could have been.

Johnny's Tavern is always an easy place to go to. My fiance is part of the KC Gooners club and this is where they watch all of the games. The staff is so nice and it so attentive to this fam group. I've been a few times with my fiance and his friends and they are quick to tend to us and get our drink and food order in. The food is always solid and they have a lot of beer options. I recently tried their GF pizza and it was ok. Not the best but could have been worse. Their fries always hit the spot and their regular pizzas are surprisingly good. If you are looking for a good bar with lots and lots of TV's this place will for sure do the trick.
