JBD has become a staple of regular date nights for my wife and me. The food is incredible (specifically the nachos with steak, carnitas, or brisket) and the steak quesadillas. Those are ELITE. Special shoutout to the big deck sliders, too, which are podium. The bartenders have been very generous and friendly every time we’ve gone, which is a few dozen in the last few months. The drinks are reasonably priced, they run daily specials on different drinks, and the bartenders pour adequately. Atmosphere is always a 10/10, especially during Chiefs games. Whether you’re on the first floor having a happy hour brew or on the rooftop enjoying the downtown KC scenery, John’s Big Deck is the place to be!

Oh, and the food? Way better than you'd expect! They’ve got great happy hour deals and drink prices that won’t hurt your wallet. Definitely a great choice for a night out!

The rooftop deck is so fun! With great views of the city & lovely breezes, they have multiple TVs going & a full service bar. We ordered food & drinks & enjoyed the atmosphere. Waitress was great & friendly & will be back if I’m ever back in KC! Be careful on the death stairs if drinking, they are a doozy.
