My colleagues and I have been frequent visitors to Kansas City for the past 15+ months, and Martin City Pizza has always been our go-to stop, whether arriving or departing. Over this period, we’ve noticed a few changes in the pizza dough and ingredients, but overall, we were satisfied with the service and quality—until recently.
Last week, as usual, we stopped by for a quick bite before our departure and ordered a pizza. Unfortunately, the crust was noticeably undercooked, which we both realized after the first slice. We informed the waitress, who asked whether we would like a new pizza or pay for half of the one we had eaten. Naturally, we requested a replacement. However, the second pizza was overcooked, which made the experience even more disappointing.
There’s more I could share, but this experience left us dissatisfied enough to decide that this would likely be our last visit to Martin City Pizza.

Their taps weren’t working. Charged me $12.50 apiece anyways for a 12oz can of beer with the rationale of “it’s the airport, man.” Avoid these grifters.

You’ll pay twenty dollars, to wait twenty minutes, for an eight inch frozen pizza.
Service was non existent. Waitress never acknowledged us. Was rude when she did acknowledge us. After waiting 20 minutes at our table with no acknowledgement or service we left. Unfortunate and not a pleasant experience.

Did not get seated for 15 minutes.
I and a small family was waiting to be seated because the host was too busy flirting to be seated.

Couldn’t tell you how the food was because of the horrible service. No sign saying wait to be seated nor was there a person at the front stand. We sat. Bartender who was the only server walked by us about 5 times with zero acknowledgement at all. She served someone else who came in after us. We walked away with hungry kids. Sad.

The MCB name is what brought my family and I into the Kansas City Airport location. Although the atmosphere and decor looked promising, the food was barely above fast-food takeout quality. All pizzas were tiny, personal size and Dominos tasted better. Add in LOUD music blaring thru low quality speakers with too much treble, and it was all we could do to rush thru eating our food and getting out of there as fast as we could. It’s a MCB location in name only and the quality and food is mediocre at best. Skip it the next time passing thru KS Airport as it isn’t worth the cost.

Not sure what the previous low scores were for, but not sure the sub 4 rating is valid. Also, airport travelers can be obnoxiously demanding, so take that into consideration when looking at the reviews as well. With all that said, my experience was pretty good. No complaints. There was only one guy running the bar and serving everyone and he was hustling and owning it. Pizza was pretty good too. Came out pretty quick. You can tell it was freshly made. Nice crust, sauce was good, plenty of cheese, toppings adequate, and great flavor. Especially for airport food!

Food was surprisingly tasty for being in an airport. The beer selection was great & the Belgian and Golden ales were spot on! Several TVs to watch splrts while killing timw waiting for a flight. Also offer wines, liquor and some cocktails. The service was prompt and friendly.

First let me apologize because I am totally biased. I love pizza and have eaten it all across the country and even other countries. My favorite pizzas are in New Haven, Connecticut but I thought I would give this airport pizza place a try.
Nice atmosphere in the new airport terminal. Plenty of seating in the restaurant. I was in a hurry so I ordered a pie to go. Turnaround time was quick enough and the waitstaff was pleasant. Let's get to the pizza itself.
Decent size pizza with more than adequate amount of toppings. This is usual where airport pizza fails miserably. I actually really liked the crust and the crust is so important. (That is why I wonder how people can eat Minsky's pizza with that stuff they call crust.) Unfortunately the sauce was not very good. It was about as good as a nationwide delivery pizza that I avoid for the most part. The sauce needed more garlic, oregano and basil.
I could possibly eat it again but I will bring my own oregano.
I hope the owners/management take this review as constructive criticism. I have reviewed more than 280 places across the U.S., the Caribbean and parts of Europe. Not many five star reviews from me but I am always fair and give most places a second chance.

Pizza was amazing. Service was a little slow due to only 1 waitress, but we had plenty of time, so it was no issue for us. Music was a little loud, but not horrible. Will definitely eat here again!!!
