Love this place and their vegan options! Very good tofu and spring rolls.
Beware: MSG is put in this food.
My daughter and I ordered two spicy dishes, and they were not spicy at all.
I can barely chew the chicken it was so tough.
I swear the crab ragoon was going to break my teeth.
Definitely smells like mold in there.
Waiter didn't even ask how our food was until I was up to pay the bill. I told him it wasn't good at all and he said sorry. Didn't offer to adjust anything on the bill. It was 38 something and we definitely won't return. First time and last time there.
Went here to eat some authentic Chinese food and I wasn't disappointed. But what I was disappointed was the fact they did not mention that their card machine was broken only after we were ready to pay for the check they mentioned it. They wanted us to pay with cash and we said we didn't have any, so they told us to go to an ATM. We didn't go so they tried to have us pay on their website but when we did, it wasn't working and so now they tell us the WiFi is down. So they tell us we don't have money and go buy eggs for them at Whole Foods Market. Food was good but the experience we had was not.
I just drove over 30 minutes to come and eat and the hours online say they close at 9 PM. The woman said they’re doing take out only….. orange chicken is soggy when you do to go so I left. Update your hours.

After a few more visits (eating in) it’s very good! The beef noodles soup is so good! And I enjoy the egg rolls very much!
Amazing Food!
I've been dinning here since 1998.
Never had a meal I didn't love!
Been eating at Kin Lin sense I moved here! Never had a problem other then owner being a little rude at times. Other then that the waiters have been nice and kind and the food is actually the best Chinese in the city! They take there time and cook things to the best they can!
This is a MUST if your in KC
Had a friend pick up some food for lunch, steamed rice was sour and the General Tso's chicken was just plan nasty also they wouldn't let her exchange the crab ragoon for the spring roll, though it was listed as an option.

Three friends and I just had a MARVELOUS lunch at Kin Lin, and we are especially grateful to Miranda, our server, for making it such a special event!
When we arrived, Miranda was working the entire front of the house; she let us know about that but in a very kind and gentle way--just so we would know what to expect. As we navigated the menus (she brought us both lunch and dinner versions so that we'd know all the options), she gave us details about particular dishes, including the ingredients and how they were prepared. That was very important to us, as two of our party have dietary restrictions. She was friendly and cheerful and so accommodating, making notes for the chef regarding modifications of some of the dishes. She brewed a pot of delicious oolong-jasmine tea for us, and kept the pot refilled throughout our meal. She was incredibly gracious from start to finish, and really did create a special occasion for us.
The food itself was DELICIOUS! We had the eggplant (the sweet version) as an appetizer, rice balls for dessert, and a different main course for each of us. I chose the Triple Delight (chicken, shrimp and vegetable) lunch special, which was a perfect portion size, and everything was yummy. I can't remember everyone's dishes, but I do remember one of the dishes was a shrimp fried rice with curry sauce; my friend shared some with me, and it was fabulous! Our spring rolls were crisp, and the rice was perfectly cooked, and everyone raved about the flavors in their dishes. The cost of our meals was extremely reasonable, and the ambience of the restaurant is warm and cozy. It was a perfect meal of truly excellent food, and many thanks again to Miranda for making it so special! Happy New Year!

You won’t get what you ordered. And if you tell the owner, he will get hostile with you. Fun stuff.

Not enough words to describe how happy we are to have found this KC gem. We moved to the area a little over a year ago and have been so disappointed with all the mediocre restaurants in KC. But a friend suggested Kin Lin to us, and we have been hooked ever since. The food is absolutely amazing. We always go for the lunch special which is an amazing deal that you can’t find at most places anymore. Mimi is the sweetest server ever. She is very attentive and provides excellent customer service. We love her. Every experience here is wonderful. Thank you!!!!

Kin Lin used to be my favorite place maybe in Kansas City. But my wife and I just ordered what has been one of my favorite meals for 15 years and it was genuinely not good. It was dry, no sauce, and the wrong rice. I’m not sure what has happened. I am very disappointed because I’m not sure I will ever come back.
It feels like the Office after Michael Scott left.
It’s just not the same.
I hope the owners know that they once had a gem of a restaurant, and if they ever decide to shine again, Kansas City will be there for them.
