I got their sample tapas plate for restaurant week lunch...and their house sangria. Everything was excellent. Cant wait to go back!
As always, restaurant week options were very good. One in our party got the tapa sampler and they were not all that impressed. Said things were not very hot and just OK. the other 3 in our party really liked out options; salmon was nicely prepared, pasta lamb was excellent and Paella was nicely seasoned. deserts were excellent!!! Price was reasonable, server was on top of everything. the sound was loud and difficult to hear our conversations.
I will blame restaurant week , but service was slow and not a very good description of the menu was able to be provided. I would like to try back after the crowd dies down.
First time there and very glad I went. Definitely has the the Spanish Tapas vibe down, the staff was excellent - Ramon at the bar was on point. The GM stopped by and chatted a couple times talking about wine. The food, Paella de Mariscos, was amazing. Definitely will be going back even for smaller meals just to enjoy the atmosphere.
On our recent trip to KC we went to La Bodga not only once, but twice. My wife loved it so much that we went back. We plan on going back next time we are in Kansas City. Cesar Salad was one of the best Charcuterie board delicious Pan con Jamon Serrano also great
We enjoy dining at LaBodega. The food is unique and very tasty. The service was excellent- the staff is friendly and helpful. All in all a great choice for lunch or dinner.
My friend and I ate dinner here before we went to a play. We made reservations and were seated immediately upon arriving at the restaurant. The service, food, drinks, and ambiance were all superb. We ordered tapas- beef and pork meatballs, mushrooms in white wine sauce, chicken and chorizo skewers with aioli sauce, and goat cheese in tomato sauce served with biscotti. We ordered the seasonal spiced pear sangria and the after dinner flambéed coffee. We had churros for dessert. It was a very special dinner, and we will definitely return.
Exceptional service with fantastic evening dining specials. The shrimp with vegetables is a must. Amazing wine sauce that blended the flavors nicely.
My friend and I ordered different selections then split them to sample the wonderful offerings—unique, flavorful, both savories and sweet. We were made to feel welcome, attended to without being hovered over. The decor is attractive, a little noisy at points but not continuously—folks having a good time. We can't wait to go back. Definitely 5-star experience.
This is consistently our favorite restaurant in Kansas City for a decade or more because of all the interesting tastes. Drink menu is great too. This restaurant is a bit noisy, the 2- person tables are a bit close together, but the talking is more from people having fun trying so many different dishes. Service is always excellent. Great outdoor seating in the warmer months too. Always room to park next door under the highway overpass.

The food and atmosphere here is usually wonderful. Our service however was the worst I have had here this visit. We didn't receive half the food we ordered because our server rang the food in the way she wanted without telling us what she was doing. I allotted an hour and a half here for dinner and 45mins into my reservation all we had served to us was our drinks and salad. We didn't even get to enjoy half the food we ordered because we had to leave before it was ready. We ordered all our dishes at one time so we wouldn't have to wait so long and would have been fine with time to spare if we had been waited on properly. At one point our server was gone from the table to find a pen. It took her over 6 minutes just to do that. Very disappointing to say the least.
Every item on the menu is superb! I have taken different friends several times now, and I am never disappointed. The menu has a true Spanish flair. Love it!
The braised short ribs and the papas fritas were our favorites, but everything was delicious!
La Bodega is always a favorite while in KCMO. We usually sit outside as it can be loud inside, especially during happy hour. Great selection of tapas on the happy hour menu and Sangria pitchers are 1/2 off.
God himself kissed the hands of the chefs here. I hope only good, beautiful things ever happen to the staff. I am changed for the better.
