My favorite vibe-wise, and no doubt some of the best food in KC. Tonight's foie gras, roasted beet salad, Dover sole and seafood gnocchi were amaze-balls, and the service was right on..! "Highly recommend!"

How isn’t this place 5 stars?! WOW. My date and I had an amazing experience from the atmosphere, the food, and our incredible waitress Danielle. She was such a treat and very knowledgeable of all the products. I will definitely be coming back!

A unique dinning experience. We had a cute little booth. The servers were helpful and knowledgeable about the food. I was wanting something adventurous and different for my birthday. I got scallops and my husband got quail. They have a year round menu then they will bring a chalkboard with seasonal options. We had a great experience! I have a more basic pallet and I still found several options I would have been happy with! We saw several people enjoying mussels and snails. That's not my cup of tea, but there are so many more options so don't let that hold you back!

Always! Never disappointed. They have cassoulet on the menu enough to share with four people!

It's not often that I go someplace and get a meal that hits me deep. Sometimes it's a family meal, you know: turkey and all the gettin's; sometimes it's a barbecue with friends, sometimes it's an event, and sometimes it's Le Fou Frog. I had the most incredible halibut I've had in a very long time. Fish is basically really simple to make (doesn't require a lot of seasoning or marinade) but to make it an exceptional meal requires a fine touch and that's what makes me think that was the best fish meal I've had in years. It's simple really: I make food for my family and when I serve it I see smiles on their faces: that is what your chef did for me. He knows what he's doing, he's not in a hurry; and he's not freaking out because Gordon Ramsay might be looking around the corner. That means he's cooking for me and you and us and that's just simple family cooking. Do Not Turn A Blind Eye To His Cooks In Training!!! They served me in their prep and attention to details and quality.

Everything from the ambience, to service, to food and drinks are fantastic! I have been here twice now and have left beyond happy both times. We usually order a lot here between food and drinks because we want to try everything. The must try items are the French Onion Soup and crème brûlée. The soup is very rich and yet sweet with the added port wine. Very complex and easily the best onion soup I have had in my entire life. The crème brûlée is the perfect finish to any meal here with its sweet vanilla and perfectly crispy sugar top. Other items we have loved have been the Escargot, Prince Edward Island Mussels, the Coquilles St. Jacques, any of the steaks, Red Snapper, and Veal Osso Buco. As far as drinks go, they have a great selection of wines and cocktails. For an after dinner drink you must try the espresso martini (no cream and added amaretto). This was made off menu but they will gladly make this over their espresso martini mentioned on the menu. I highly recommend ordering it this way and the fact they use real espresso over cold brew makes the world of difference. We always come here to celebrate a special occasion, but would love to come more often just for a good night out. They have a nice patio that I imagine would be great to sit out during a warm sunny day. The atmosphere inside really does make you feel like you've stepped into just a bit of France. Come and experience the magic of this restaurant and immerse yourself in some French dining cuisine!

Can't think of a better place for a fancy date night in Kansas City. This place is super cute and is perfect for a splurge night out. Everything I had was phenomenal and I can't wait to come back and try the Dover sole and the prawns in the vanilla cream sauce. The pumpkin crepe dessert I had was especially sublime. Don't be fooled by the menu on their website, as they will have seemingly dozens of other dishes on their list of specials. The waiter we had was very knowledgeable and did a great job of explaining everything to us in great detail. My only critique if I could think of one is I was surprised by the lack of a cheese course option, but that is a small complaint for an otherwise perfect dining experience!

In the words of my husband “great drinks, great service, great food.” But actually, this is probably the best restaurant I’ve been to in Kansas City. The atmosphere is so warm and inviting. The service is incredible and they really do go above and beyond. My husband and I both had different specials but the food was

Le Fou Frog is a unique dining experience for KC. It's a bit off the beaten path, romantic, charming, and just oozes with ambiance. I honestly can't believe it took me so long to make it here but I'm glad I did. We visited for my birthday in late December and I made a reservation well in advance, as for most good places around town the week between Christmas and New Years can be busy for family outings and restaurants fill up fast. This was the case for Le Fou Frog as it was packed when we arrived but they had our table ready. As we walked into the small space, it was like a transformation into a totally different world. The lighting was dim, with a bit of a red hue to it, and we were seated in a booth, which I really appreciated as it had curtains on the side and just felt a bit extra intimate. I ordered a French 75, ordered some mussels for the table, and took in the menu, settling on pork medallions, while my husband selected their special for the night. I will say a lot of folks talk about how they feel transported to France or Europe while they are here and I do get that vibe, having studied abroad in France many years ago. I don't think it's a 100% replica, but it does have that energy which feels special when you are so far away from a charming European bistro. The food I found to be above average though, not as good as some other five star places in town. I think it's worth it though for the overall experience - could the food be a bit better? I think so, but it's definitely delicious and well worth the visit. I think the mussels were my favorite part. I could easily see us coming next time, splitting a few appetizers, an entree, and a dessert, and some cocktails. It's a near perfect spot on a cold KC winter night and I'd encourage anyone to stop in and give them a try.

A wonderful French spot in the River Market district. Parking can be a little sparse to give yourself some extra time if you have a reservation. The online menu is supplemented by a large number of specials that the staff will go over with you. I have rally enjoyed the Dover Sole and some of the salmon dishes that they have had.

We had a magical meal at Le Fou Frog. We had the French onion soup, escargot, filet, scallops and baklava cheesecake. Absolutely everything was delicious. The ambiance was fun and our waitress, Jill, was lovely. Easily our new favorite restaurant in KC!

I had a great dinner for my first visit to Le Fou Frog. We did make reservations but the restaurant was nearly empty (we went after a Chiefs game). We started with the Coquilles St. Jacques. This was amazing and I would get this dish again. For my main dish I got the Gnocchi Fruits De Mer Sauce Armocraine. (Seafood gnocchi) I found this to be very filling and had plenty of seafood (shrimp, scallops, mussels, crayfish. We finished our dinner with a crème brûlée. The crème brûlée was the best I have had. There are specials that are not on the menu and I would love to return to try other dishes. Service was very quick and our server was knowledgeable on all of the dishes. We plan on returning!
