Shoppers beware!!!I'd highly recommend not shopping here. You will save yourself alot of mess if you go elsewhere. I've been shopping here since the store opened under the lipari sunfresh name & this place has gone to trash since the store was bought by new owners & renamed KC Sunfresh. To enter the store you have to go through people begging for money.Once inside you will find the shelves are bare. At the time I wrote this review this is what the store looks like. There are no Potato Chips (I went in Wednesday no chips, then returned Saturday the isle looks exactly the same no chips). Most medicines shelves are empty, even the dog food & cat food Isle is bare. The entire store looks like it's still in the middle of the pandemic with empty isles throughout. The photos I've included of the bare isles were taken March 16th 2024 & they have continued to look more & more empty each time I come in. Even with the empty shells I & my roommates have purchased or almost purchased food that was already expired by the expiration date on the package but was still on the shelves for sale. Yuck! So gross. It's the only place where it's like buyer beware you gotta check the date on all of your items before you eat. I'd also check to make sure no mice have chewed on your products. Last fall while checking out at the liquor department register I saw a mouse run across the floor and disappear underneath the shelves in the bread isle.If you want to use the customer service counter you must do it before 6 PM & even then sometimes it is already closed. That makes customer service completely useless for anyone with a 9 to 5 job. Unless you want to race home from work to pay your bills etc & again you may get there before 6 & still find it already closed.YOUR PHYSICAL SAFETY IS IN JEOPARDY!!! Back in February 2023 I noticed a block of wood blocking the emergency exit push bar that you would use if there was a fire or something like a shooting ( There has been a gun fight at the entrance of the store windows were shot out!) This exit is near the eggs at the back of the store. Again then in June 2023 I saw the block of wood was still there. Now today March 16th 2024 the block of wood is laying on the floor & they have blocked the exit with merchandise. I took photos each time I looked but I figured the fire Marshal would tell them that is against the law & they would remove the wood, but I guess they haven't had an inspection. Yes I know I'm right that it is against the law to block emergency exits but they are doing it. In an emergency you may think OK I can see that and move that wood out of the way, but imagine the lights are off and you have dozens of people trying to exit through that door mabey you get out mabey you die in a crush of people stuck trying to escape crushing you to where you can't remove the wood to escape. I've not looked closely at the other emergency exits but I'd shop like they're blocked as well & be prepared in an emergency to respond as if they are.Another fact is the store is open till 9pm, but you must already be inside before 8:45pm. They will not allow you to enter after 8:45pm. The front entrance is locked. Again that is against the law doors are to remain unlocked during business hours. Have you been to any other grocery store where they won't allow you in 15 minutes to close? I'm not talking about a little mom and pop store. I'm talking about a Sunfresh, a Walmart, a Hyvee, a Price Chopper. None come to my mind. Nor has it ever happened to me elsewhere. There isn't any notice at the door or posted with the store hours, or online of that policy. So basically you can't come in & shop for the last 15min the store is opened. If you were just running up the street to try and get a few things before they close keep that in mind.In conclusion I'd shop somewhere else I only live a couple blocks from this junk of a store, But I do

Poor service and absorbent prices... Tsk tsk. It is also dingy and dark... I do not enjoy shopping here. (At the mercy of the bus)

Going downhill..The security is a joke. All the do is guard shopping carts. They never tell anyone to move from in front of the stores. They let everyone park in the no parking area. Drugheads everywhere. People begging outside. The meats are starting to look old and disgusting. The store is going downhill and fast. Oh yeah they let the homeless use the restroom in there as well. Not clean anymore also drugheads come in there and steal. I will go to Sunfresh in the Westport. This one is not good

Attention !!! I ate at this place for lunch the other day and I do not advise anyone to eat off their menu. Although it looks delicious it is horrible. The chicken was dry, the pot Rose had no flavor although it was beef which I like it was completely bland and the vegetables were overcooked. The side of steam vegetables that I did have were overcooked and were not really seasoned. The other side of mashed potatoes wasn't bad but they were too mushy for my tastes and taste more like nursing home potatoesNeedless to say, I didn't enjoy my meal and tossed it in the trash.A waste of $19.

Prices are definitely high to be a grocery store in mid town for blacks

A convenient neighborhood market! Sun Fresh offers a good variety of groceries, and the prices are reasonable. The store is well-maintained, but it can get a bit crowded during peak hours.
