Went to Los Alamos Cocina with a friend and tried the barbacoa plate. The meat was cooked perfectly and had great seasoning. I also had a margarita and it paired really well with the meal. Service was quick and the staff was welcoming. Overall a solid place for Mexican food in Kansas City.

Wow. What an experience. Have some friends in town and they wanted a proper Mexican restaurant. We found this one randomly and it did not disappoint! The food was great! Service was even better!

Love this place. We’re from Texas and it was so nice to find an authentic Mexican restaurant so far from home. If you live in Kansas City it’s worth it. Same great food you would get Mexico. Come visit!!

Atmosphere was good. In a good location and good seating space. Food on the other hand was awful. We ordered green chilaquiles and got red instead. Chilaquiles were just tortilla chips with watery tomato sauce on top which made the chilaquiles hard to eat. No flavor, no seasoning at all. We also ordered a chorizo and egg burrito which came in a small flour tortilla overstuffed with more egg than chorizo. Service was ok.

We had the pozole, menudo, queso and enchiladas. The queso was a little different from what we're used to but still yummy. The enchiladas were traditional and looked appetizing but they weren't enjoyed by the person that ordered it. The Agua frescas were delicious and enjoyed by all of us.

My first time going to eat here was my only and last time. I took my family on a Saturday evening which was really slow we were the only table there. The server did a great with keeping up with our table amd asking if we needed anything. The thing that got to me was the food refried beans were bland the barbacoa and steak were bland as well. They had 3 cooks that day in which they weren't really doing much, which gives me the impression that they dont care about checking the taste or quality of the food. I was even more let down when i got my bill deli tax? Service tax? When the food was mediocre? This isn't an authentic mexican restaurant all it is just a overpriced restaurant that serves bland food. For a family of 4 i paid over 100 dollars which is not even worth my time or money at all.

The staff, owner are all very friendly and welcoming. Great environment. However, the prices are ridiculous. Maybe they’re catering to the gentrifiers in the neighborhood. The food is okay. Someone commented of the cafeteria-esque quality of it and they’re not wrong. No heft to the burritos. I could have made it at home, everyday for a month for the price I paid. There’s no way in hell this restaurant isn’t turning a profit three to four times over. The house-made salsa verde is great though. I probably won’t be going back and it’s not because the food is bad but because I can’t bring myself to drop money on what I was given.

Had breakfast tacos that brought me back to living in San Antonio, plus the service was outstanding.
