I usually do not give a place a review until the third time going but wow. The chocolate chip cookies taste just like my grandma's use too! This time I tried the chicken bacon wrap which was on point, I will return to try something else for sure!

I was there right at the beginning of the lunch hour, so super busy, and there was a mix up with my order and I was given the wrong one and mine hadn’t been put in. The staff were absolutely amazing when I pointed it out, refunded my gift card and credit card and gave me my meal+ extra on the house!

I want to give a massive shout out to Mclain's Bakery and more specifically their Cakery. We had our wedding cake (Lemon with Butter Cream) and desserts (Apple Cider and Chocolate wwith Sprinkle Cupcakes) ordered from Mclain's and it they were massive hits.
My wife and I loved the cake tasting session we had at the beginning of our shopping process and fell in love with the staff and atmosphere of Mclain's we also loved that we could support a local business.
Mclain's made delicious sweet treats for our wedding and they were massive hits with our guests! We highly recommend using Mclain's for your wedding.
We ordered from the Waldo location but are super excited that a new North KC location opened up, which is closer to us. We will be regular customers moving forward for sure.

We used McLain's for our wedding desserts and we could not have been happier. We used their cupcake sampler to try different combos and chose chocolate cake with peanut butter icing, almond cake with strawberry icing, and lemon cake with buttercream icing. We also had a red velvet cut cake that I had them customize into a baseball given my husband's affinity for the sport. Everything was delicious and a total hit at our reception! We barely had leftovers and received many comments on how good the cupcakes were!

The team was so easy to work and communicate with. Dare I say McClain's is Kansas City's best wedding cake/dessert shop??
We ordered a single-tier cake and a sheet cake for our wedding. The cake was delicious, reasonably priced, decorated well, and arrived on time. The only issue we ran into was a small bulge on the single-tier cake, we just turned that part to the back and it ended up in somebody's belly by the end of the day :)

McLain's Bakery was a wonderful cozy place for a good "country breakfast" of biscuits and gravy and eggs. I was visiting from Illinois and if I come back to Missouri, I'll definitely want to come back here. The bakery is an eye-catching view with pretty pastries , twinkle lights, and great choices to choose from on the menu.
