Best airport bbq I have ever had on all of my travels. Portion size was very good too. My go to spot when stopping on KC. Great food.

First time eating this barbecue and it was very tasty. I also had the Smashburger with no bun… Keto. The burger had excellent flavor however, the two patties were very very small. That was the only disappointing thing besides the price you pay but I chalk that up to just being at the airport and paying higher prices.

Excellent brisket sandwich. Moist and flavorful. Tasty bbq sauce. Beans were good. I’m not sure I understand some of these negative reviews. People get cranky when they’re traveling I guess…

Fast and hot bbq... pork ribs and burnt ends are pretty good. Fries are crispy!

I was visiting KC as I heard so much about the BBQ. Most places ribs had so much sauce...it was messy and the actual meat was tasteless. Just when I was ready to give up...I gave Meat Mitch a try and OMG....the ribs and burnt end meat was tender and moist. And you have to try all of the sauces as their delicious. Thank you for restoring my tastebuds back !

Rude staff, very long wait. The experience makes you think they don’t care about your business

I have eaten at their KC airport location several times. Surprisingly good as airport restaurants can be hit or miss. Very good and convenient location in the terminal.

Juicy! Half slab was 6+ bones!
Service was minimal. Had to ask twice for my glass of wine. Then it was so bad I wished I hadn’t ordered it.
BBQ beans were good. Coleslaw lacked taste. Lots of Texas toast in the order.

Our hostess/waitress Ajajoreen was wonderful. It was busy and she was very attentive and sweet. We had the chili and the Mac/cheese, both were great.

I am shocked by the other reviews. This place is exceptional.

In town for a conference and the brisket is better here then any place I found downtown.

Came during a stressful time on the floor; only 2 wait staff for a full dining area. Food was tasty, drinks were ok. Personal space felt very respected but was difficult to flag down the blur of a server. Drinks small. BBQ delish. Mac and cheese side is the perfect portion.

We just work around the corner and needed an amazing place to have a working dinner meeting. This was perfect and we will be back! Everything was so great and accommodated all of our different eating styles.

I bought a turkey avocado sandwich with fried pickles and my food was cold. I purchased my food and walk to gate be 54 to sit down and eat at the counter. I've been to the sandwich and it was cold and the fries were also cold. I think they have been sitting out a while so they were not fresh.

10/10 would not wait a minute more for Meat Mitch Barbeque.

TLDR: We left Meat Mitch's Barbecue after being ignored for 25 minutes by a slow-moving, inattentive hostess who prioritized a single-serve takeout order over seating us, or taking our order. We were excited to try the BBQ but were disappointed by the poor service. We then went to Martin City Brewing Company and had a great experience with quick service and great food!

Full Rant:
The hostess/waitress took 5 minutes to acknowledge our presence before seating us, shuffling around the restaurant doing just enough movement to extricate herself from taking our orders.

She then took a walk-in / take-out order for some busybody boomer who was in a hurry (most likely to avoid the hassle of waiting on the waitress I guess). We sat for about 20 minutes, the boomer got her take-out order.

The waitress ignored us for another 5 minutes and we decided to leave.

Overall I was really hoping to try the place because my family and I have seen it a few times and decided to give it a try. Welove BBQ but unfortunately the hostess and the staff were either too unmotivated, too understaffed, or too unqualified to help us out with our anticipated culinary adventure.

Good thing the folks over at Martin City Brewing Company know how to balance bustle, hustle, and brews! We were seated and orders taken, and delivered within the amount of time it was taken to write this review (about 20 minutes total).

P.S. I rarely write reviews, and am pretty used to sub-par service, but this one warranted the forewarning. If your store hours are listed from 11am to 10pm, you should put a disclaimer up saying you'll start shying from service by 7.
